Men, what's the best thing a woman can do to maximize her attractiveness?

100% yes.

Do women really wear makeup for a guy? I would say thank you for telling me your opinion but, we obviously aren't a good match so you go find your true love..lol

If you are a mom, what is wrong with a mom cut?

DP here, when my husband talks about that kind of hair cut he’s specifically talking about the “Karen”/Kate Gosselin type hair cuts. Or like Miranda’s look on the new Sex and the City. The short/no style cut.

It's not shallow because any woman who has stopped caring about her appearance is guaranteed to have much deeper problems than just her uncared-for appearance. And if she doesn't care about her appearance, how much do you think she will care about you?

The fundamental problem with this argument is that someone leaving their natural color is "stopping caring" about her appearance. There is a point where it looks ridiculous for someone to have blond or black hair.

That point is nowhere before the age of 60. But you commonly see it in women who are not even 40 or 50. It does not require much effort to color your hair. They simply stopped caring.

LOL. It is possible for someone to look good with grey hair, and to care about their appearance in other ways. You sound very uptight and not fun.

(And I say this as someone who still colors my hair at 58. But I do it because I want to, not because some man might not ask me out otherwise. Gross)

Not that I disagree with you but if that poster is indeed a man, and I’m assuming he is, this is just how men think. Women have different standards. The thread is specifically about what men want, I don’t understand why so many female posters are up in arms.

The haircut that makes you look like your brother is not attractive.

Lol. This is why women get irritated at men sometimes. I am stating that somebody with gray hair can look lovely and not at all like she gave up, and a guy assumes that what I’m really saying is that I’m distraught at the idea that a man might not find me attractive. What is your deal, dude? I don’t have gray hair at all, and the only thing I’m trying to cope with is the stress of figuring out how I’m going to keep my kids entertained over summer break. If you don’t think that women looks like she is put-together that’s fine but please remember the world doesn’t revolve around you and your preferences.

You are using the classic intellectually dishonest female tactic of generalizing from your personal feelings to all of humanity. "What you say is not true for me, and therefore I feel it must be false for all mankind." This is one reason men get irritated at women sometimes.

My deal is the OP asked men (i.e., not you) what women can do to maximize their attractiveness, and however you may feel about it personally, "color her gray hair" is something that men prefer.

"please remember the world doesn’t revolve around you and your preferences" -- please remember the OP directly asked men to state their preferences. Duh!

If you are trying to figure out how to keep your kids entertained over summer break, what are you even doing here?

I'm chuckling at you chuckling at someone else for doing exactly what you're doing. The opinion of one man =/= the opinion of all men.

This is such an American thing. Europeans know the neck is the sexiest part of a woman. Short hair (on the right neck) is hot.

That point is often well before the age of 60. Men: if you are discounting a woman as unattractive because she has gray hair, please check yourself and other men you know. Do you or they have gray hair? Should you or they color it?

I am 43 and have very short gray hair. I am fit and dress well and no one is going to look at me and say “she gave up”.
Then again, I am also not at all interested in attracting men. I don’t need one.

+1 it really is this.

There is no reason to be fat. Fat is not a natural state, it is caused by sedentary lifestyle and bad diet.
I just can’t get excited about a woman who is fat or even chubby, even when everything else about her is great.
It’s a huge turnoff. I don’t like them stick thin either. “Curvy” butt and thighs are nice, but I mean the true meaning of curvy, not the euphemism for fat that it has become.

+1. This is exactly right. Being fat is just a deal breaker for most men with options.

I'm a guy and agree. The #1 priority for the OP's question is maintaining a healthy weight. Basically, if you are 5 foot 5, don't eat more than 1600 calories average per day, and you should be fine. Amount of food you eat is the most important, followed by exercise. Try lifting weights instead of treadmill all the time. Lifting weights will have more visible effects.

If someone at that height wants to each 2800 calories per day average, be my guest. It is free country.

I'm a guy and agree short hair could look good on a long neck. Most women don't have this type of "long" neck though. Probably less than 15%. Also, the "long" necked women would probably look even better with longer hair.

Where do you guys even come up with this nonsense??? I'm 5'6, weigh 115 lbs, aged 43. I eat 2000 calories on average and I don't lift.

Thanks for the endless mansplaining though
