Elrich is in at least one highly credible poll up to 41% of the vote.

Riemer is likely capturing a big chunk of former Leventhal and Berliner voters. So if you want to know why he is not moving the needle, that’s the reason.

There is no hidden or secret Riemer vote that will surprise everyone on Election Day. There is no Riemer “movement”. He will finish third.

I have posted here before. But to repeat, in 2018, I voted:

Krasnow in the primary.
Elrich in the general.

And this year, I voted for Blair in early voting.

To me, Elrich and Riemer are two sides of the same coin. People with no sense of fiscal responsibility, and who can't make the trains run.

I can't believe that anyone that has sat in a meeting with Reimer, or had a one-on-one conversation with him face to face over any matter of substance, would EVER vote for him.

Once you get most the campaigning, and actually talk to him, its very clear that he just doesnt care. Well, I guess he cares about the election, and getting your vote. But he doesnt care about the issue, just about convincing you.

I can't stand Elrich. But I'll give him credit: he's not a two-faced politician. You know what he cares about and how he stands.

If you get a chance, please meet the other candidates and hear what they have to say. Let them earn your vote. Honestly, Riemer has me deeply concerned. I’m worried he has absolutely no handle on public safety and a misguided, hostile view of MCPD. He has spent 2 years constantly attacking county police, and only now has found some (insincere) support for them, just in time for elections. If he becomes County Exec, I don’t think he can tackle the growing crime in the county. It would require him to undo some of the damage he has done on the council, and I fear he won’t do that.

Because Jawando is not a supply sider and thinks Riemer’s developer subsidies are wasteful. Riemer jumped on some of Jawando’s issue because it’s where Riemer thought the party was heading. I don’t think Riemer believes any of the positions except the supply side economics.

Maybe he’s capturing former Leventhal voters, but not Berliner. Riemer is just as charming as Leventhal, so like attracts like.

Riemer tried to coattail Jawando a little bit because he thought it would help him appeal to Black voters. It didn’t work and his jump into defund proved to be a liability. Riemer spends too much time on Twitter which explains a lot about him.
