It's a stupid boy's name and an even stupider girl's name.

I knew three female Stuarts growing up in non-NOVA VA. I like it for either, but maybe more for a girl.

My 3x great aunt was Stewart. And her aunt and grandmother were Nicholas. This was in the 1800s.

Stuart/Stewart is one of the worst names I’ve ever heard, for a man and even worse for a woman.

The question is if SHE likes it. Personally I don't think it is right for a boy or girl. There is only ONE Elvis

Agree! I'd name a cat or dog Elvis, but not a person.

This is a trend now but giving the mother’s maiden name as a girl’s first name is an old-fashioned tradition, especially in the south among American gentry.

"American gentry"

We have some good maiden names in my family I would consider - Campbell and Sampson (I kept my name, but it's a harsh dutch name that no one would want as a first name).

My father is Morgan (named after an uncle whose first name was Orville! Morgan was his last name) , and I have an Uncle Kim (after the Kipling novel) - both are in their 60s.

I'm 32 and a girl I grew up with was an Ellis, I think it's a nice name for a girl.

My dogs are named Sophia and Olivia.

Accurate.

Ridiculous comments. Grayson is a name. You don’t have to like it but it’s far from “stupider”.

It is a name. A stupid one. And yes, it's stupider to name a girl a -son surname than a boy, for obvious reasons.

Gen Z is predicted to go all in on non-binary names.

But they won’t because they’ll become parents who name their kids normal names.

I really don’t think so. Non-binary will be the fashion and most people follow the fashion.

+1. Names are better or worse; horrible or fantastic; ugly or beautiful. It’s all fashion and a small bit of personal taste.

Stop embarrassing yourself, PP. You just don’t like the name and that’s okay. I actually like the name Grayson for a girl. We both have options but neither is stupid or more right.
