are you fine with male teacher at daycare?

We had two great male PreK teachers at our school. This whole thread makes me sad. I’m hoping it’s mainly just trolls.

I used to teacher first grade and many students needed help unbuttoning pants or with belts (even though we would tell parents to have kids use elastic pants or easy to unbutton pants) .Or little kids would want to hug on you or grab onto you. It puts male teachers in an awkward position if someone walked in and saw the teacher unbuttoning a young kids pant button.

So if the preschool teacher is too hands on it is seen as being creepy but if they are not hands on enough then the child suffers.

Now add to that the vast majority of preschool teachers who have sexually abused kids are male. The elementary school where I taught a male teacher was convicted of sexual abusing kids the year before I joined the school.

Recent local cases. Here are three but there unfortunately are many more.
August 2024: Maryland. Mark Cobb, 44, is accused of engaging in a year-long texting relationship with a 9-year-old student, during which he allegedly requested and received explicit photos.

June 2024: Matthew Schlegel, 44, who worked as an elementary school teacher in Severna Park, Md., faces 55 charges of sexual abuse of at least eight children under his instruction

2019. Virigina. Several young children were sexually abused at a Virginia preschool, Taylor Keith Boykin, 27, admitted sexually molesting four girls, but prosecutors also revealed as many as 15 children were victims of improper touching by Boykin.

The list of men assaulting little children is endless. It’s outrageous how many of them do it for years and years. Why?

People don’t have the guts to report suspicions. You also need to know your child to recognize when something seems off.

Not your job to produce evidence. Trained and experienced detectives do that.

These monsters want you to stay quiet.

Does it seem like Montessori schools seem have more male teachers? I just toured one and was surprised there were like 4 males while I typically dont see any.

Daycare? That is a hard no. Honestly, even in a school setting, it rubs me the wrong way. I am a female teacher at a middle school. The male teachers hug on the girls, I opened the door one time to ask a question and it was a girl and a guy only in the classroom, the girls will ask personal questions and they have no boundaries, they answer them.

The male teachers hugging the children are groomers showing you the red flags.

Please keep a close watch and protect the children from these predators. Thank you.

So do you guys think the solution is for daycares to illegally discriminate against men in hiring?

You figure it out. If you’re a man wanting to change baby diapers and help little children in the bathroom, most parents will avoid places that allow you to do so. You may call it anything you want. Most of us call it a red flag. And rightfully so.

Thats not what a daycare is that part of a teacher job male or female in daycare there so much more than just spending time loving a child there teaching, emotions love, changing pottying but clearly you will never admit your discrimination. The way you write makes it seem only males care to want to help in bathrooms. You all can make things sounds worse than really is

Its called discrimination amazing is ok when women do it, and daycare job is more than just pottying or bathroom and its not men who daycare go ill go change the child its whoever is able to do it. Many daycares have cameras half open doors for bathrooms potty. I am so done with the anymous nonsense. In here as you are know what you are doing would be 100% illegal

But a guess females changing boys is ok after all it never happens males

It really doesn't matter when it happens cause it happens

"Women commit sexual offenses, but the proportion of sexual offenders who are female is subject to debates. Based on 17 samples from 12 countries, the current meta-analysis found that a small proportion of sexual offenses reported to police are committed by females (fixed-effect meta-analytical average = 2.2%). In contrast, victimization surveys indicated prevalence rates of female sexual offenders that were six times higher than official data (fixed-effect meta-analytical average = 11.6%). Female sexual offenders are more common among juvenile offenders than adult offenders, with approximately 2 percentage points more female juvenile sex offenders than female adult sex offenders. We also found that males were much more likely to self-report being victimized by female sex offenders compared with females (40% vs. 4%). The current study provides a robust estimate of the prevalence of female sexual offending, using a large sample of sexual offenses across diverse countries."

1. ALWAYS report suspicions straight to your police department.
2. Be sure to get a copy of your report.

You can spare little children from getting raped. Please.

There are cases of sexual abuse to kids from a Jewish center in DC, MD

They didn't background check him, he was a photographer too

And his family still denies and defends him

This is evil.
