Ok thanks. Can you please define living in a conservative bubble now? |
These prices were higher 15 years ago. Not in “real” terms, although that was true also, but gas was $4/gal in low tax states in 2005. People were on notice. |
Exactly. They were on notice when gas prices were at record highs under W Bush. And they continued to make dumb choices. They continued to live in places where they were dependent on cars. They continued to buy cars that used gasoline. They didn’t decide to change careers and earn more money. They were on notice 18 years ago, and they didn’t change their ways. Too bad. I hope they all starve, buying gas instead of food. |
Good. Get me out of my car ugh! |
More like they continued to buy gas hogs that get 10 mpg. Did they really need that $60k suped-up pickup truck to drive to work at the local factory? No, they wanted it so they’d look like “real men”. A simple gas sipping sedan or subcompact really just wouldn’t do. Gas guzzlers are a luxury item and now the price has gone up. Cry me a river for these poor souls. |
Do you have the same contempt for the big spenders on the Travel forum’s Travel/HHI thread? |
Good.
Gas in Austria right now is 6.15/gallon after conversion. |
I see you hate low income people who rely on gas powered vehicles for commuting and running their daily errands. |
Keep making silly apples and oranges comparisons, trumpy. ![]() Our HI is 800+k. Do you think I care if gas costs $10, even $20 a gal? We have two EV’s and one gas powered SUV we rarely ever drive as it is. So it won’t affect us at all. Not one bit. Gas prices are a problem for stupid people who live in the wrong places and stupidity chose to depend on gasoline to maintain their life choices. I’m not going to feel the least bit bad for them. Not one iota. |
Did anything in my post indicate Trumpiness? I love how you didn’t answer my question, petal.
I’d wager that you love to travel. |
Seriously. But somehow this is never the takeaway. |
Dear Lord. You are seriously out of touch. So glad for you that you are part of the 1%. Super that you don't have to worry how much a tank of gas costs. Just a little humble bragging going on here. ^^^ So, Mrs. 1%, what exactly is the "wrong place" to live? Far outside a city where an acre of land costs the fraction of a 600 sq. ft city condo? The mountain areas where the views of our gorgeous country far surpass the concrete jungle in which you choose to live? And, "depend[ing] on gasoline to maintain their life choices?" Does that include choosing to be a trucker who delivers your Amazon Prime goods? Or, a visiting nurse who relies on her automobile to treat your elderly neighbor? Please, expand on your judgmental views of the lives of others. |
No one I know is talking about gas prices and I live in the Midwest. Filled up for $3.39 pg yesterday. |
Yes, I don't understand this at all. And we've had years to buy cars with better gas mileage, but people who don't need them are buying huge trucks and SUVs. Makes no sense at all. |
Maybe it will finally force leaders to look at more sustainable solutions for commuting and transportation of goods. |
