Lol no they actually would be upset. They have a coherent ideology and believe in the constitution and this country unlike you. It is so strange hearing the right wing nuts jobs like yourself subserviently mouthing support for big government’s boots on people’s necks- defending political tip lines paid for with tax dollars, turning your friends and neighbors in for thought crimes, federal government agencies detaining random people off the street in unmarked white vans, masked uniformed federal security forces without unit or agency identification deployed to our streets., supporting a coup, etc, etc. I guess when you decide to become sheeple you fall in-line and accept what your leaders- Tucker and Sean tell you to accept. Now roll over and show us your belly …embrace your true nature. |
Please don't project your personal beliefs on all Dems. You speak for yourself. You don't speak for anyone else. I'm a Democrat and I happen to agree with the PP's point of view. I also happen to believe that Democrats/liberals are just as capable of banning points of view they don't like as Republicans. Look no further than the disaster that is currently higher education. |
Dems are not banning racisim, but rather calling it out when it is expressed. People are free to show their ignorance however they wish. But they are also responsible for their words and actions.
There is a difference between that and curtailing speech in school that is associated with teaching about slavery and MLK. |
Please, please tell me how Democrats have been able to implement policies that cause non governmental entities of higher education to become these bastions of wokeness you so hate. I’ll wait. |
Except, of course, when Democrats -- like Republicans -- willingly continue supporting institutions and public policies (e.g., everything from taxes to special education) that perpetuate systemic racism. |
+100 It’s terrifying that his supporters don’t understand this. |
It's terrifying that SBs don't understand and listen to parents. It's terrifying that our news media do not report anything negative about our SBs. Just look at how the parents of the sexual assault victim was treated. The school administration knew better, the SB knew better--and, yet, they let the dad be presented as a "domestic terrorist." Do you prefer the dirty laundry be presented on twitter and conservative media to the public--or do you think it is better to have a place to report it. How is this different from a "whistleblower" hotline? It is not "fascist" to report a teacher who is out of line. When the administration is encouraging demonizing one group over another, where else do you go? My personal preference is to use the chain of command. But, when the chain of command is encouraging the wrong instruction, where else can you go? Washington Post ignores it. FCPS SB members have had racist texts go public. Have you read about that in Washington Post? Their racist texts just happened to be against the "privileged" races. So, to them, I guess that is not racist. |
Yes. That is what fascism is. Everyone has to “fall in line” with the state. Can you really not see this? |

“Wrong instruction” per Fox News and the people pushing a charter school agenda, that is. Youngkin has stirred the pot and emboldened the cranks like you because he sees a political advantage to doing so. His people will make money from it. You will feel “heard”, but guess what- Youngkin and his ilk will never, NEVER let their children commingle with yours. When your rage is no longer useful, they too will shut you out. When one of these domestic terrorists goes too far and actually kills a SB member at their home or shoots up a school, they will run from you so fast your head will spin. |
what constitutes "wrong instruction?" |
It is not fascism to expect someone to do their job. |
It sounds like what you are "terrified" of is loss of control. The current RW obsession with school boards is curious. I was a PTA president for several years and hardly any parents came to meetings. Same with the handful of school board meetings I attended which were covering "boring" topics like budgets. Suddenly you all are interested in SB meetings? Most other countries don't even have school boards--they are a manifestation of American obsession with local control. (I can say this because I grew up overseas as an American citizen and attended a range of schools in a range of countries, and I can tell you that parents in most countries have little say in what is taught in public schools). If you want to have more control over your child's education, then you have the option to home school or choose a private school that subscribes to your beliefs or is more responsive to your complaints. I do not say this flippantly--if you are so invested in micromanaging what your child is taught, then that is the only way I see for you to exert more control over the acceptable range of thought your child is exposed to. PS. My DC had a teacher last year in 12th grade who is an open Trump supporter and anti-masker. I heard a number of objectionable things that this teacher said during online classes because my DC and I worked in the same room when DC was doing distance learning during earlier Covid waves. It never once occurred to me to complain to anyone about the things the teacher said that I found objectionable. In fact, my DC and I had several productive discussions (not easy to do with many teenagers) about the teacher's opinions and how they contrasted with ours. |
I have heard they are planning to teach or maybe already teach "foreign" languages in my child's school. How can this be happening in America?
Cant Governor Youngkin or the Republican Party do anything about it?? |
