Depends on the pool. . . Not at mine |

You’re assuming all parents work 9-5. This is why pools vary and reps determine the needs based on availability of the pool, costs and how many people would benefit from adjusting the schedule. If my kid misses a soccer practice because my daughter has ballet at the same time, I don’t deduct a percentage of what’s due. |
So if your daughter's ballet constantly conflicts with soccer practice, do you "push" the soccer club to have a different practice time (even though the current time works for all the other parents on the team?) Or do you drop soccer (or ballet?) |
Can’t please everyone! Honestly, if you want it to work, you figure out a way. Only so many hours of sunlight. Maybe summer swim team isn’t right for your family. Every family has to make choices and sacrifices. |
Pp you’re responding to- I agree with you! I suck it up and one kid misses their activity that day or I have hire a sitter, find a carpool, etc. |
| We both work but do shift work so can make it happen. A lot of the parents at our swim team seem to be teachers or have flex schedules. |
This. If your kid really wants to do it you will figure out a way. Otherwise, sorry it's not going to work out for you. Our pool has practice starting as early as 7 . I think the last practice ends around 10 for the older kids. Also, odds that you 6 year old is going to want to go to practice every day are slim. |

No - we just know we have some people that only joined for the evening swim option. The membership fee doesn't go to the swim team - but we know that but for the evening program - the pool also wouldn't have gotten those memberships. But the swim team fee does pay for the evening coaches for the evening group. We have a giant swim team but the evening group isn't that big. |
We have a large swim team but the evening group isn't that large. We usually use two lanes in the evening - if you're counting swim team only and not minis. |
It is 1-2 lanes unavailable in the evening. It's not the same thing as the morning practice. It's a smaller evening group. |
Neither. There are way more kids and coaches in the morning. Fewer kids and fewer coaches in the evening. It's not an identical program in the evening. It is a much smaller group and I guarantee it would be the same if any of you did it at your pool. |
I guess some of us have different pools. Our lap lanes are never solidly booked. |
We often do what we are doing for swim. I am helping with evening swim. My spouse coaches other sports and in that way is able to plan that practice time at a time that works for us too. |
