I thought "liberal leave" means you can use your annual leave on a snow day without advance approval? If so, that's better than teachers who don't have a choice, they have to give up one of their days off. |
OP was JUST CURIOUS if teachers were working and if an email would be answered. Just asking. But the response was very dramatic and defensive. |
I clarified my annoyance in a prior thread. I'm not annoyed they are happy. I am annoyed that the PP I quoted said they "Deserve" it, as though whether or not the teachers work hard is a factor in whether to call a snow day. It is not. It is the unfortunate consequence of a weather event. It might be a happy thing for some teachers, but whether or not they "deserve" it is beside the point entirely. |

I am probably viewed by some as being anti-teacher (I get annoyed at the level of professionalism when teachers expect privileges never seen in other professions, and/or when they complain about industry-specific downs - not realizing that other downs are present in every profession - or the pay which is comparable for nonprofits working 9 months of the year , etc.)
BUT- on this one, give them a break. |
