Yup. We are the Scout leaders so not really worried. The kids wear masks at the meetings and we wipe everything down when we are done. So far there have not been any sick kids or adults. One child was a close contact so we added him to a meeting via Zoom.

We don't have a Nanny or attend Sunday school or have house cleaners.

We don't go out if we show symptoms, we do test with home tests when we have symptoms.

Everyone is vaccinated and boosted. Not sure what your complaint is. The whole point of getting vaccinated and boosted and being cautious is to return to normal, with reasonable modifications.

COVID is not likely to go away. The best we can do is take reasonable precautions and live life, so that is what we are doing.

Wearing a mask for 2+ years is not “reasonable”. Neither is your faith in the hygiene theater of cleaning (for an airborne virus).

Returning to normal is returning to normal. COVID will be here forever and everyone will get it. You’re just lamely trying to delay the inevitable

NP- and we will get back to normal, but I think it is stupidity to do it now. Far as I’m concerned people who feel like you do that they don’t need masks can do it as long as it is a voluntary situation (not medical or educational) but a business. You all can be the omicron guinea pigs. The rest of us will watch and start unmasking in the summer when things seem to spread less seasonally.

You say that now, and when summer comes you're going to decide to keep the mask on because case numbers are surging in Florida and you feel the need to demonstrate your superiority.

I do for a non-elderly person who wears a mask, especially a man (it’s so emasculating). When I see a dad from APS out in public wearing a mask, I know who wears the pants in that family.

Scout parent here. We wear masks because they help prevent the spread of COVID. We also wear masks because it a requirement of the locations where we meet. We wear masks because some parents are very cautious and we don't want to exclude kids because there are people who don't like masks. It does help decrease the chance of getting sick. It is not hard to do and it does not harm anyone.

Clearly you are not paying a lot of attention to BSA and have no clue how many women are leading Dens and Packs and Troops and support their kids Packs/Troops. I won't bother to share my gender with you. I am not surprised that someone who has such a strong opinion about people who wears mask is sexist as hell.

It’s funny how the whole scout group has to do all of this theater because a few kids have a few coronaphobic parents. I thought the scouts was about teaching boys to become men, but sounds like this troop is all about teaching kids how to be germaphobes who can’t read statistics.

I teach them we don’t wear helmets riding in a car, they don’t wear condoms while walking down the street, and we don’t wear life jackets when not swimming or on a boat. Those are the rituals of neurotics who can’t read statistics or live with Powerball odds of risks in their lives. Same with masks

Do you wash your hands for the rest of your life? Taking precautions to stop the spread of infections should always be part of regular life. So weird that you all suggest doing nothing “because COVID will be here the rest of our lives.” That doesn’t we should actively facilitate its spread.
