Now that the average American is starting to see wage growth, you complain about inflation. We cannot have a permanent underclass for service jobs. The conservative still want wage slaves. |
That is the point, lol. |
Inflation is outpacing any wage gains. I'm not sure why some people have difficulty grasping this. IT's been said over and over again. Inflation is now outpacing wage gains. The class most badly affected by inflation are the working classes. Rents go up, food costs go up, but salaries can't keep up. |

"The conservative" its actually the wealthy class. Let's not forget liberals only caring about undocumented workers because they get to exploit their labor. |
Which party again is it that has blocked immigration reform for years, including fines for companies that exploit that labor? |

Core PPI up 7.7% from last year. It's getting worse, not better. |
Republicans don’t care about reality, they just puke out talking points. |
All the Democrats running around shrieking that at least it's not as bad as having Trump as president may very well discover Trump is going to be president again, because, yes, things were better under Trump ![]() It's not an outcome I want - at all - but if the perception is the Democrats unleashed rapid inflation Trump is going to ride it all the way to the White House. That is why all you Democrats need to be very, very, VERY worried about inflation and screaming at Joe Biden to get his act together and cancel his next $2T spending bill and raise interest rates, rather than screaming on DCUM 'but but but Trump!' |
Inflation is not an easy beast to play with like that. Most already employed workers will only see 2% - 3% pay increases this year as employers try to hold the line. Even for the lower end workers re-entering to big percentage pay increases - they are facing runaway rental and housing inflation which is making it difficult to get on the first rungs of the housing ladder. |
Exactly. Forget about Amazon's signing bonus for delivery drivers. Most working people are going to get 2-3% increases. I got a 3% increase for 2021 but inflation hitting 7% means my income effectively declined. And the company is planning another 2-3% increase for '22 but if we have another 7-8 or even higher % inflation in '22, that represents two years of notable buying power declines compared to where we were in 2019. And this is most employers. The Fed is also only giving its employees a 2.5% annual increase for 2022, which will largely set the pattern for most employers. Inflation is a vicious cycle that is always very difficult to bring under control without serious pain. |
Today's inflation numbers are BAD.
The FED is way, wayyyyyy behind. Biden's economy is going to crater when JPowell has to do multiple rounds of interest rate hikes. |
