Not really. It seems to be more on a tier of its own. Chicago has no engineering programs, big killer. It’s not as comprehensive as Columbia in many respects. Penn should be a level up for its comprehensive programs as Columbia, with top notch business, medical, and law programs. |
Chicago literally blows Columbia out of the water in economics and business |
I wouldn't say 'blow out of the water' necessarily https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-humanities-schools/economics-rankings |
You sound like DD, so you must be a kid. Were you rejected from Columbia? Posting false claims and bashing Columbia across many threads won’t make you feel any better. Move on! College is not the end-all-be-all, there are greater things ahead in life! |
What's false |
Oh puhleeze …. Your appeal to ignorance that college reputations should remain static for decades with no objective proof for why people should believe that is non verifiable. Your insults might sting more if you used correct English and more creative epithets (“dumb” is so hum drum). “You’re absurd” not “your absurd”. Your humble attempts to defend an indefensible position would be at least amusing if you displayed any hint of clever originality. As my community service for today, here are some verbal Arsenal for when you have no actual arguments to make your case but none the less want to put whoever dares to disagree with you in their place. “You strutting self important cockalorum crowing noisily into your echo chamber” “You snollygoster, who seek to climb the walls of elite university reputation regardless of peer platform” “Bullocks, you Smellfungus Pillock. Your village needs its fault-finding idiot back” “You social climbing Ninnyhammer” “Mumpsimus stubborn old Mule who insists on making an error in the face of overwhelming evidence, which in my case is whatever I say is so” Have fun insulting people who disagree with you! |
| Jhu is notorious for being a very difficult school with borderline extreme grade deflation, unlike Harvard etc. Of course it gets a bad rep when it actually challenges its students and doesn't hand out easy As like candy. |
+1 This makes more sense … |

Chicago isn’t even ranked #1 in economics, and more dual admits seem to choose Columbia than Chicago when admitted to both schools, hmmm I wonder why... |
Again, same kid. Go to bed. |

…….and how many times and on how many threads have you posted this same drivel? You have no idea who has been making statements about Columbia. Here’s a shocker for you, it’s more than one person. I know, because I constantly question Columbia’s data set as reported to USNWR. I also have haven’t even mentioned anything about Columbia in this thread. Therefore, I suggest you take your own advice and move on already! |
Are you sure this is correct? Here's what someone on CollegeConfidential put: "Top 10 1 -MIT 1 -Stanford 1 -Columbia 4 - Princeton 4 - Yale 6 - Harvard 6 - Northwestern 6 - UC - Berkeley 9 - Chicago 9 - Penn 9 - Caltech 9 - Rice" |
