So many selfish people

You're worried about your kids being at home primarily because of you or your job, not them.
You are now allowing them to go on sleepovers and worse.
Some of you are sending them on summer trips/camp.
Then you will send them to school with my kids.
You'll get what you deserve -- but so will your kids, and so will mine, and so will I.
Thanks.

Most places are offering options to do full time online learning in the fall if you have concerns. Let go of the anger.

“Sleepovers and worse.” What could be worse? Do tell!

I agree. Sometimes the truth isn't pretty.

It’s possible that the fear and attitude you may be projecting on your kid is worse than what Covid can do. Like PP said, do what’s best for you and keep your kid home next school year.

Umm do you not think our ability to do our jobs and provide an income to support our kids affects them? I'm not even going to address the rest of this ridiculousness holier than thou...and I'm a pediatrician.

You're welcome.

Agree with OP.

I see people complaining about having to go back into work and having to share elevators or hallways, use work-provided sanitizer, or public transportation for the commute etc.

Meanwhile they are demanding their kids be shoved back into buses, schools, and classrooms with 5X the number of germy bodies in a small area.

No self-awareness at all.

So selfish. These aren’t needs, they are wants. Get your priorities in order.

Also don't complain when your child gets back from a COVID+ party. We really don't want to hear it.

Unfortunately we need my job to afford our home. And therefore need some sort of childcare.
