Graduation parties. Summer pool parties. Beach trips.

We are going to all 3 this summer!!+!+
Woo hoo!!

Pool parties and beach trips are likely much safer than hanging out with a bunch of people all night in a still room, breathing the same air.

Umm they're proving decidedly not. Something about standing in a tepid pool of water, inhaling the spray, and laying immobile for hours next to way too many people spreads virus...who knew. Not to mention all the tactile contact between strangers and friends.

We have not come together as a country or community. I don’t know why - it’s so unAmerican to be so self-centered in a time of crisis. Yes, our lack of leadership contributed to this but it’s not the whole story.

Wow, what a rebel. What a maverick. Going to parties is so revolutionary. (Dripping sarcasm in case you missed it, sheep).

Look at you, so original, calling other people "sheep."

You are now allowing them to go on sleepovers and worse.
Some of you are sending them on summer trips/camp.
Then you will send them to school with my kids.
You'll get what you deserve -- but so will your kids, and so will mine, and so will I.
Thanks.

Op - I’m looking forward to you getting what you deserve.

If you are calling other people selfish but have spent the last three months not going to grocery stores and instead shifting that risk onto a low paid Instacart workers, you need to take a look at yourself.

Newsflash - everyone is selfish in ways. Deal with it.

You are sheep. A weak sheep.

Wow, how did you get so mean?

I don't agree with "you'll get what you deserve" because not everyone who doesn't practice social distancing will get COVID and I'm uncomfortable with the idea that people "deserve" to be sick even if they take risks. On everything else, agree with OP.

Please continue to socially distance until/unless public health authorities in your area recommend otherwise. If not for yourself or for your kids because you're healthy, for people who may suffer severe consequences if they get sick. For the future of everyone around the world.

COVID has killed healthy and young people: https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/05/health/young-people-dying-coronavirus-sanjay-gupta/index.html. It can potentially have long term consequences, lung damage and neurological issues among them: https://www.healthline.com/health-news/what-we-know-about-the-long-term-effects-of-covid-19

Selfish behavior isn't okay just because "everyone" engages in it, and not everyone does. If anyone "calling other people selfish" is also acting in selfish ways themselves, that means that they also need to correct their behavior, not accept that everyone will behave badly.

Also, paying others to do your grocery shopping may be a good choice for people who are immunocompromised.

We look like weak, immature idiots to the rest of the world. They are tackling a pandemic by doing what it takes, meanwhile we are arguing over our "right" to be mask-free and have beach week. I'm embarrassed to be an American.

The Americans who are protesting against lockdown don't represent all Americans. But those who are protesting should consider the examples set by people in other countries who practiced social distancing and are now seeing good outcomes.

America is completely finished. Our population will continue to grapple with virus while others clean up the mess and move on. Our economy is doomed and so is our culture. I think the November election is already too late.

Trump destroyed us.
