| Obviously, most of northern Virginia near DC is progressive, but I'm wondering which neighborhoods are known to be conservative or to be politically mixed? My impression is that Arlington and Alexandria are quite Blue as is most of Fairfax but there are some areas in Fairfax that are more mixed... What are other people's impressions? |
| I would say Burke with a high military presence is more mixed than other areas. |
Yes, neighborhoods surrounding Ft Belvoir like Springfield and Mt Vernon too. Most of my more conservative coworkers live out in Loudoun and Mannassas. |
| Blue =/= progressives, FWIW. |
| McLean used to lean Red, now it leans Blue; but it is still fairly mixed. |
| Vienna leans more politically conservative than some other NoVA areas (like Falls Church for example). |
| In broad terms, areas where houses are on bigger lots tend to be more conservative = Fairfax Station, Great Falls, the Langley-zoned areas in McLean, Oakton. |
I think Town of Vienna pretty liberal. |
| Pockets of Arlington are sort of progressive, but most fall comfortably within the corporatist Democratic mainstream. And why not? Northern VA is going to do fantastically well under Biden — hell funnel money to tech, defense, contractors in general like you’ve never seen. |

Here, OP. Search until your heart’s content! |
| I have yet to meet a human being in Arlington or Falls Church who will admit to biting for a Republican. |

| Basically, wherever lots of people live (dense suburbs, for example), they will vote Dem. |
