| The name comes across as "only black lives matter" and I know that is not the intention. |
No. If you change it you lose the intent of the message. Black lives matter is appropriate because for so long and even currently, black lives have not mattered. Signed, Asian person who was at first turned off by the name but now gets it. |
| Agree. |
the point is that black lives haven't mattered in the US and that needs to change You don't need to be black to want to be included in that message |
| The only people hung up on the name are people who would find fault with any name for the movement. |
| Please hold while I connect you to the marketing department.... |
Do you feel that way about other organizations whose name reflects the people they advocate for? Do you think the American Heart Association must hate people with liver disease? |
Yep. |
| This sounds like a "you" problem |
It doesn’t come across that way unless you are ignorant of why the movement was formed. How often are the cops killing unarmed white men or Asian women and getting away with it? |
| Actually, it doesn’t come off like that at all. |
|
What is the name that you think would get Donald Trump and his supporters to start working in favor of less biased policing, poverty reduction, and increased investment in majority-black neighborhoods and schools?
|
| The issue is violence/murder of civilians from police. All ethnicities are being impacted by the violence if you look at the statistics. |
Don't worry, they hate anyone not similar to them. They aren't doing anything to help poor any race - white, black, Hispanic, asian, every other category you want to put yourself into. They are equal opportunity haters. |
|
No. The name is exactly what it needs to be. The point is how little it is saying. That black lives matter. That's all they want you to understand. That they matter. To stop pretending black lives are worthless and can be just disposed. Enough is enough.
