VYS Soccer - better or worse?

Worst kept secret: The parents on the Board/management ruined what was once a respected organization - VYS Travel. Everyone knows it has been openly run by insane phony parents. These parents picked their kids and friends' kids who were not qualified for either Travel or the team level placement. Parents who got on the Board early controlled the age group for years. So many people left, and didn't look back. Lost some really good people - coaches and parents - and players. Those parents who controlled the age groups might have "won" their kids slots (so what?) but really lost reputations, self-respect, and dignity. I think these parents thought they were smarted than everyone else (NOT!). We stayed but very much regretted it. Doubt very much we will stay another year...

from what other people had mentioned it sounded like the club was doing better.

Were these the board parents from a couple of years ago who are no longer on the board, the board parents from this year who don't have kids on the top VYS teams, or the board parents who didn't renew someone's untenable contract?

I mean ... I'd be mad, too, if any of these complaints were coherent.

I agree the board has been quiet. Slowly but surely things are normalizing.

Well that would be interesting -- Reston, Gunston, Vienna tied to Spirit DA -- someone on another thread said that all they needed was a partner inside the beltway. Isn't field space an issue though?

Probably with Arlington, getting a complete boys and girls DA like VDA. I read they are looking for partners on the girls side. Maybe VYS?
