Jackie Kennedy has been dead for quite some time. Your tingly thoughts could use an update. I guess you could try imagining Melania in the as-yet none existent ballroom, but, these days, she’s rarely seen at the White House or near her husband. Maybe that’s why he destroyed the East Wing — to cover up how seldom Melania was there. It’s not like she has any widely publicized First Lady projects — aside from living her New York City life with all of the tax payer supported Secret Security protection that must entail. Maybe Donny is hoping that if he destroys her office space and builds her a party room she’ll be impressed enough to visit him.

I have an idea. Buy a property and rent it out, or even better, invite a guest to stay in your guest room. When they demolish your home and property, without warning, I guess you will be ok with it!

Someone on Daily Kos noticed a mention in the Post that Ballroom will have half a dozen "Guest Suites" built into it. I suspect even on DCUM there isn't anyone with enough money to arrange a stay.

Question. In pics, there was a great deal of architectural detail in these rooms. Wood paneling etc.

Was any of it saved?

It was all dumped on the golf course in DC by the Potomac. I can only hope a very thick coating of asbestos was deposited onto the Chick-fil-A inspired rose garden patio.
