Well it’s SY for 26/27 but no reason ti be nervous. The best players will continue to make the top teams. Best player on my daughters ECNL team is July she will still be a top player next year.

Ok, so no worry for top player on each top girls team. Boys have much more competition though. And top kids on a clubs top team could get the opportunity to bounce to a better team. It would make sense for everyone to be anxious.

The oblivious are like those that drown making fun of Noah. Next year is the time to prepare for your next team and give up on the current one that is going to be reinvented anyway.

Nervous? If you completely redefine who is eligible, clearly there will be some who benefit and some who lose out (hmm sounds like politics). It's also a random anonymous board so you're getting the most extreme opinions.

Yup! Parents even on ECNL teams don’t realize what’s happening. Even on the good teams. Spoke with a parent over the weekend and you should have seen there face when I explained the 6 Q3/4 2010s at the club can play 2011 next year. And that’s just from my club not to mention the others around us.

I think the number of parents preferring a RAE over leaving BY is closer to 50/50 than people realize. The crazies on this forum are a selective group. Most real soccer people know that playing up even within an age group makes you better and by age 16 it largely shakes out with RAE.

business decisions meet parental joysticking. Who will win out. What kind of shift will take place as parents realize kids will lose exposure

RAE is the stink that keeps on stinking. Cumulative, not like a cold that breaks. Growth differences are still big for boys at 16. Changing the age cutoff will even change who can play up.

Expecting some coach lock to factor in trying to hold some teams together next year which will create some younger teams that get stomped by those that adjust accordingly.

You should play up if you can help the team compete and the club is okay with it. We have girls who play ECNL their age and also play boys instead of playing up.
Always think about development.

I would say U16/17 should goto showcases with your age group over playing up. That’s just my opinion.

This is what we've been waiting to hear about since February.

Several conferences start league play the first weekend in September. There’s no way there will be major rule changes when it comes to rosters. Pre season is underway.

ECNL starts league play in California on Saturday. So I would assume no major changes. But they are still meeting this week and will make some adjustments before the start of the season.

There will be no age group changes for this year. I do believe the rules will be U15 and U19 trapped players can play U14/17 for showcases. Specifics should be out when they post the league rules.

They better be careful with that dual rostering. Ask PDA why they were DQ'd from the playoffs if you need more details.
