As a Democrat, it all feels hopeless.

Yup. This weekend's violence just solidified people's already-staked positions.

Just saw the classified docs case was dismissed. Plus the Supreme Court ruling. Plus the Democratic infighting. And a very strong Republican lineup for the Convention this week while the Dems have literally no one. It keeps getting better and better. I have been walking around all day with a stupid grin on my face!

You haven't even read the thread TITLE, because it's likely you don't bother to read much,

Of course I read the thread title. It says that Dems feel hopeless. And as a very hope filled Conservative, that makes me so happy! That was my point.

Strange, my daughter and her friends are ready to vote all the way down the ballot. She and her friends understand the threat of Trump.

I don’t think anyone knows who will win. Where DO know is that you can’t knock doors if you are too busy wringing your hands.

I can’t stand Trump but at this point I’m like where I was in 2016. Let them have him and we can sit back and watch the shit show. What did he really accomplish in his first term? Same will happen in his second term. Just grab the popcorn and let the GOP have their “God” who is going to save mankind. We all know what’s going to happen…

Did you lose someone to Covid?
Those who lost loved ones, didn’t grab popcorn.
They mourned loved ones.

The Supreme Court being turned extreme right wing, was a huge accomplishment.
And Trump will replace Thomas and Alito with younger more extreme partisan judges.
Possible even Sotomeyer as well.
The court could very well be 7-2
Extreme right wing in the next 2 years.
And it will be locked in for the next 20 years.

Vote Kamala Harris.

Might as well. We have nothing to lose now.

Yup. We get what we deserve I guess. But it makes me anxious about my children’s future.

Stupid being the operative word here. Good Lord save us from these imbeciles.

Goodbye civil rights. Goodbye any protections for consumers. Goodbye any possibility of justice for victims. Goodbye America.

Trump getting his ear nicked by a would-be assassin doesn't in any way, shape or form make him somehow more qualified or fit to lead.

The only way I'd ever consider voting for him is if he comes to the RNC Convention with a life-changing epiphany, realizing that America is only more politically toxic since he arrived on the scene and that it is on him to change that and to actually and genuinely work toward unity rather than continuing to only pander to and enable his rabid, radical base. And that means significantly dialing back his policies as well.

Ds should feel helpless. 4 years Trump, then 8 years either desantos or JD Vance.

Very strong Republican lineup? Who? A wife beater, an Onlyfans porn star, and so on... That's your strong Republicans?

Trump's second term will not be a redux of his first term. It never is for any POTUS, and Trump is likely to have the biggest change given that (i) he didn't know how to navigate the system when he first entered the WH and (ii) the two terms would not be continuous.

I truly don't understand the complacency among the Democrats around a second term.
