ECNL forcing Brave & Union Partnership

Say the top 2-4 girls from Union and Brave teams find spots somewhere else because they’re easily good enough to be picked up by another team. They take the spots of “weaker” players at other clubs because their parents are sick of all the merger BS. (Did MYS learn nothing from the failed SYC partnership?) That does not leave strong teams at FXU.

That’s “FVU”

Arlington parents buckle up... where do you think these players are going?

Announcement said more details were coming later. When is that?

In his opinion, the only “rough” players in HS are the ones who’ve played in those leagues…And, in his view, if you think any part of youth soccer is rough, try playing against some college or pro players sometime!

You're saying a 15 year old playing against men finds it rough?
What would be other expectations?

As for HS, when you have non-skilled players past puberty lacking coordination being told to be physical and aggressive by unqualified coaches, you get "rough"

It’s obvious that playing against men would be more physical, but so few kids do (in a competitive environment) they don’t have a sense for what it is like. If they do, there is not much a HS kid, skilled or unskilled, can throw at them that will phase them.

Why?
Probably feel no different than the McLean-Union girls — same mix of reactions for all.

I would expect brave girls to be much more worried about being cut

Not if their coach is from Brave!

I know you are disappointed because now you can’t make fun of FVU. It’s FXU, check the new logo.

Union parents are just as worried about their girls being cut, or worse, their team getting worse. And that's not a jab at the Brave girls -- it's a critique of how hastily and sloppily this merger was put together and a fear that the top Brave and Union girls will go elsewhere. The clubs don't own these kids and they have choices.

I am exhausted. Could someone just announce the coaches and ID sessions already?

They're still debating about who will take what.

FCV is going to slide into the vacated girls slot, while NVU will take the vacated boys slot.
