Just homeschool your kids. Then you can start school whenever you want. Problem solved. |
Ironically, MCPS has no problem throwing many millions of dollars a year trying and failing to close the achievement gap. Starting school later would prove everyone's education outcomes but especially MCPS's favorite demographics. |
Why don't you homeschool yours if you even have any or any that are school age? |
Better arrangement of school schedules to start later for teens could help with achievement gap. Think, BOE and MCPS leaders. |
Who just settled what? |
I'm fine with how they settled the matter. |
Most are not. They just aren't on this forum. |
Meh. That was a full generation of students ago. Time to revisit. |
Nah, they just settled this. Time to find a new hobby. |
What's your definition of "just"? |
DP. With a decade or so. Nothing has changed since then, except that our budget problems are even worse. |
We reapportion the House of Representatives every 10 years. It's past time to revisit a decision from more than 10 years ago. |
The stakeholders have changed. People who have high school students currently or will in the next few years are not the same people who had high school students when the issue was studied. A later start time might be even less feasible now than it was then, but people impacted by bell times have every right to raise the issue. |

Yes. Nothing has changed. Behavior is the same. Cell phone use is the same. There was no worldwide pandemic that shut down schools for 18 months. Nothing. |
