Have you ever talked to an Ivy League Brahmin? The most ruthlessly status and class obsessed people on the planet who think anyone below them is a peasant class servant. Low and middle class Americans disgust them. That is what he married. What makes them grifters? Is it because they went to Yale in their own merits and not because they were from three time legacy mega donor families? Oh the horror. Do they somehow not deserve the success they worked for and earned?

I never read Vance’s book nor did I see the movie but I heard him interviewed once when he was promoting them.

Didn’t he write his own book without a ghostwriter or coauthor?

I still don’t really care to read it because that genre is not my thing, but you have to respect that.
