We have an imposter! IYKYK |
I guess I asked for that. |
Any good box games this weekend? |
No, but looks like Pride is staying on top. |
Actually, Stars/Pride game was a really good game last weekend (15-14). High school coach who refereed commented on the high-level of play and skills of both teams. Stars defense was disciplined, and cutting game was creative on attack. Pride held on with some good 1v1 takes at the end, but a close game.
And the teams will run it back this weekend, with a different group from Stars LB and whomever is available from Pride. Fun, competitive opportunity again given that the winter league hasn't provided too many good matchups. And full-field, full-team, is the only way to really evaluate relative strength, and that won't happen again until NGLL or summer tourneys. Results against common opponents favored Pride in the Fall, but Stars always plays Pride tough. |
It was so sad to see so many Stars Light Blue players get pushed down to the "Light Blue 2" team last weekend. I suspect they will eventually get promoted back to top team (before the weekend). |
Someone really wants to stir the pot. They just divided the team equally to get adequate reps in a 7v7 format. Strong players on both "1" and "2". |
Uh huh. Sure. ALL HANDS ON DECK! |
Trolling has to make some sense to be effective. |
If Stars wants to put their strongest players on both "1" and "2", which I believe to be true and will know for sure this weekend, I say go for it in the spirit of good competition. |
Are any Stars/Pride players going to private school next year and if so, where? |
Distilling from several, multi-page discussions on the above here and on the 2024 VHSL page: --Lots of Stars LB going to Battlefield next year (and the Battlefield boosters are really excited), some to several other Fairfax Co publics, and a sprinkling to privates on the VA side. --Pride is mixed. You will see players spread across ISL (SSAS, Visi, Potomac, HC) and WCAC (DJO, SJC) teams as well as some strong publics. Other than the unique Battlefield 2028 class, I don't think there will be enough players at any one school to say that either club dramatically changes the composition. Maybe 3-4 at a couple of privates between the two clubs. Could be wrong as herd mentality can kick in at decision time. |
I have heard quite a bit of chatter from the Pride crew about SJC. If there is going to be a Pride herd move that is where they will go |
PVI will get a few. Especially those that don’t want to drive into the city and live west of D.C. Many are not fans of the SJC coach. |
It’s a brutal commute from NoVa to SJC. |
