Please do not let this disappear from the news cycle and get swept under the rug. These teachers need the support and fight from the public since obviously no one else is supporting them.

This is not your soap opera. Get a life people and move on. The show is over.

The show has just begun. This is not a population predisposed to be forgiving about lapses around education in the first place. This ish is way over the line.

The reason why this will stay relevant is because it's about the culture of the system, not one man's egregious actions.

I have been bullied by more than one principal and my colleagues have received worse. We work in a county where teacher's have no voice, staff surveys are unilaterally ignored, unless we gain the media's attention.

It took at least 7 years for MCPS to get into this mess and we will be expecting at least 7 years of meaningful actions to get out of it.

It’s not way over the line. This happens all the time. He just happens to be black. 🤔

Check some of these other principals records. He isn’t the only one he is just the only male black one. There are plenty of female principals doing the same thing but no one sees the men as victims. Some of these principals are your favs doing the same thing and even have been named principal of the year.

You will all forget as soon as school starts and you get back to your busy jobs. It happens every time. The Damascus grooming was supposed to be way over the line. John Vigna was supposed to be way over the line. So many things were supposed to be way over the line. Nothing ever changes because the CO doesn’t want it to change.

How are wee supposed to check the other principals' records if they're being swept under the rug? If you know something then go to the media.

So you are saying MCPS has an much larger harassment problem? If that’s true, the coverup is so big that the state or the feds should get involved to see what has gone so wrong with MCPS.

This is making my principal, who is kind of dumb and generally does whatever the three staff members he trusts the most or maybe fears the most tell him to do, look pretty good. He does let teachers bully other teachers and he is wimpy and one of the least inspirational leaders I’ve ever worked with, but hey, he’s not partying with teachers or sexually harassing anyone.

The coverup is that big and the state and feds should get involved right away, before the admin’s hand-picked defense counsel taints everything.

To complain to the US Department of Education about sexual harassment of students, which is a form of sex discrimination and prohibited by law (and you don't have to be the person harmed to complain):

https://www2.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ocr/docs/howto.html

To complain to the Maryland Office of the Inspector General for education: oige.tips@maryland.gov

I would love to hear about the many female principals sexually harassing their male subordinates. Please contact the media if you have stories to share.

He is "unassigned" aka you aren't going to be at PB or a principal anywhere, and while you're on leave and we figure out what to do with you, we have to give you some title. That's what this is. As much as I hate MCPS, this isn't malicious intent.

We have to give you a title??!?!?!! Why?

Do sex offenders get a desk in HR???

He doesn't have a desk at HR, he is on administrative leave. It's a database holder.

One thing that would make this unnecessary is to fire him for cause.

Even that is the right thing to do, there still has to be some sort of investigation that is completed before that decision is made. Until then....he needs to be in a holding pattern in the HR system....

There already was an investigation...you'll have to understand why some of us taxpayers are not thrilled that we're not only continuing to pay this man's salary, but also for a high priced law firm to defend the botched investigation.
