2023 Boys Private School Results /Game Schedules/ Commentary

When people talk about the IAC title, they are talking about the playoffs. Regular season counts for seeding but any team can make a run at the title.

its a two-horse race this Spring for DMV bragging rights.

SJC and Prep should find a way to play in May following their respectful playoffs.

GP took it to Landon yesterday.

My rankings as of today:
1. SJC: they are the kings until someone knocks them off. Will Bullis or Gonzaga stand a chance?
2. Prep: easily have the most talent in the area. They must sweep the IAC this year.
3:STA: huge win for the bulldogs yesterday. They just need to be more consistent and they could make some noise.
4: Landon: even though they got smacked by prep, they still have some big time wins this year.
5. PVI: very athletic and plays hard. They could make a run.
6. Dematha: very inconsistent, but when they are hot, they can play with just about anyone.
7. EHS: they have some big time wins this year and seem to be surprising a lot of people.
8: Gonzaga: they are very athletic, just don’t have the talent to compete with the top 3 in the wcac.
9: Bullis: they are playing awful right now considering how hyped up they were and how much talent they have.

Was this list created by an STA booster? STA should not be in third. They lost to EHS by six goals and Gonzaga by 4. Makes no sense that STA is third in this group. EHS and Gonzaga should be above STA.

I would concur. STA placed 5th BEHIND Gonzaga and Episcopal (their order can be debated) makes perfect sense.

Episcopal is better than those teams and then STA is next. Beyond those two is where the scrum starts.

What are you talking about? Episcoal's best win this season is STA, they have played a relatively soft schedule this spring. EHS still has to play GP, Landon and Bullis. 3 teams the Maroon has beaten in over a decade.

As for general area rankings:

Tier 1: GP and SJC

Tier 1b: Gonzaga

Tier 2: STA, EHS, Landon, Bullis, PVI

Tier 2b: DeMatha, Saint Stephens

Tier 3: Saint Andrews, The Heights
