PSA: Fairfax County Parks, Pools and School Facility Status Recap

High school tracks and tennis courts at Fairfax County Public Schools are now open, however playgrounds, basketball courts and athletic fields will remain closed.

However, I've checked with multiple high schools maintenance crews and even the police department located in Dolley Madison and Great Falls yesterday and they confirmed that the football field is part of the high school track. As long as there are less than 10 people playing soccer within a group, that will not be an issue. Please take your kids out to play pick up soccer game with other kids.

I did see people practice on both the softball and baseball fields and the school security patrols said nothing other than "enjoy the nice weather".

The fact that 2 schools didn’t kick people off of it, doesn’t cease to make it an athletic field and it doesn’t mean that every HS in Fairfax County is the same. Westfield is locked up.

Why do you feel that obeying senseless laws enacted by panicking fools is being a team player? The fields are closed for a political reason. Obey the spirit of resistance to the tyranny of fools and ignore the laws.

Guess they never taught Tom Sawyer in your schools. Or the principle of reductio ad absurdum. Here's an example of the latter: If you think being dishonest with your child about the relative risks of corona versus other everyday activities is kosher, I guess you're telling them it's ok to lie, which means it's ok to cheat, which means it's Ok to steal, which means you have no respect for the law, which means you should disobey laws, which makes you a hypocrite for playing wet nurse to adults who are probably a lot smarter and more accomplished in your school . . etc. Looks like you are contagious!

If that's the case, why didn't school security personnel kick people of the field? Furthermore, the police didn't kick anyone off the field either. The police forces don’t feel comfortable enforcing it. Unless it were to get out of hand, they mostly seem to be in a deterrent posture. Most people will stay clear of that. Those who are comfortable breaking the law in front of enforcement are getting away with it for now.
