I’m so confused because in the last two months I’ve been outside away more, my Fitbit indicates I had over 10,000 steps every day, walking and riding bikes with the kids, chasing after them playing games. I’m not eating anymore and I’m sleeping the same. I have gained weight and I feel thicker around the middle in general and just gross in general. anyone else? |
Sounds like pregnancy to me! |
Maybe it’s your diet? |
Not at all. Didn’t hear any mention of a missed period, backaches, constipation, or nausea. |
Could it be, OP? |
Definitely not. Just had my period.

You’re not getting enough water! |
Are you eating different foods? Less salad? More bread? |
Try tracking what you eat for a few days. I used something called MyFitnessPal and you enter in all your food and exercise and it tallies your calories. Maybe you are eating more than you think! |
How old are you, OP? I've found that I need fewer calories as I have reached my forties. Also, I agree with the other posters that you should try to carefully track your food intake in myfitnesspal or another app. I've been doing this on and off since Jan and it really helped me figure out that I was generally eating healthy--just eating way too much. One more thing--when I'm with my kids all day I tend to snack more (with them) so watch out for that. |
This. How are you tracking OP? If you just think you’re eating the same, I would guess you’re eating more than you think. |
And pick off their plates, nibble while you’re fixing their food, eat what’s left on their plates... It adds up! And you may not realize it, even if you’re using a food tracking app. |
What is the weight gain in 2 months?
Are we talking like 3 or 4 lbs (which is sorta insignificant - temporarily bloated, PMS, water weight, bowel, etc) or are we talking like 10lbs? |
I had the same issue, and it was the snacking (and nibbling) combined with not taking the time to eat regular meals. I don’t even think it was the calories. I think it just kind of messes with your metabolism to snack all day rather than eating proper meals. I also think cortisol levels are up for everyone. It’s a stressful time! And high cortisol levels decrease your metabolism as well. |
You’re eating more and in denial about it. |
