Our preschool is opening June 1st. DH and I both anticipate continuing to work from home until the end of June. Would you send your child to preschool or keep him home? We have an older child that will be home the first two weeks in June and still don't know if camp is happening or not... |
Nope. Keeping my nanny for as long as she'll come. And we used to do preschool and my kid misses it so much. |
Aren't most preschools wrapping up their school years in June? |
NP. Not helpful. Some of us have year-round preschools. |
You mean daycare. |
You are such a pathetic person. Find a new hobby. |
+1. Lol Never change, DCUM. Never change. |
Ours is opening June 1 as well (maybe the same one if you are referring to a place in Falls Church). We are going to send starting June 8th. |
Are you local to the DC area? It's hard to advice without additional context. |
Mine has been going the entire time (essential workers). |
Most likely, I would send mine if it were an option, but i'd want to understand better what they were doing differently upon reopening to try to manage risk as best they could. |
No, not until I had to |
We will once reopened and we are satisfied they are taking appropriate (significant) precautions. Taking risk to 0 is not realistic for the next ~2 years

Our daycare is a certified preschool. |
I would wait as long as possible. It’s not going to look like it did before. At least at ours, classes and teachers are being rearranged, kids will be dropped at the door, temp and health checks often, a lot of toys/rugs/materials have been removed because they are hard to clean, masks on adults, etc. It’s going to be confusing for kids and still a big risk. |
