Saw Marc Elrich the other day

Two things I noticed.

First - did he have weight loss surgery? The guy looks like he's lost 100 lbs.

Second - he was NOT social distancing. Around people. Wearing a mask but not social distancing. And this is the County Executive who wants to go rogue and keep us under lockdown even though Hogan says we can open up.

Is Elrich trying to run for governor? Hence the weight loss? I don't understand his "go rogue" politics. Oppose the governor's recommendations to start opening up. Opposing the Council's recommendation to stop raising taxes. Just what kind of world does he live in? Does he think he is dictator of the County and that's supposed to get him somewhere?

The governor said that local leaders can decide. Here is a local leader, deciding. Not sure what's "going rogue" about that.

Not to mention that we are hardly under "lockdown" here in Montgomery County.

His weight goes up and down.

I was hoping he'd up and quit after this one term. He hates being CE. But I have heard recently he feels his whole agenda won't be fully realized unless he runs for a 2nd term.

God I hope the Dems put someone decent up against him, and not 30-something people so the hippies win out again.

I know that the past few months have felt like a century, but he only just got elected 18 months ago. You can probably wait another few weeks before you start worrying about second terms.

Ooh..you work for the county? What other kinds of things do you hear? What is it like to work with the CE and how do you know he hates it?

He is suffocating all of us. Stuck at home for 2 months, kids crying from boredom, wife pulling her hair out (and mine), schools are a joke. Why keep the county locked down because of the nursing homes? They can be quarantined. Why do we have to so what Bowser says?

I’m not in Montgomery County, but the reason you and PG are not entering stage 1 is because your counties haven’t hit the benchmarks that the rest of the state has. You need declining numbers for 2 weeks. You should be thankful he isn’t caving to peer pressure.

Been locked down for 2 months now. SO what's the story? Either the govt is lying to us, or the stay at home crap doesn't work. SO why are they so determined to kill everything we have - school, work, relationships? I am just so sick of this.

Why is Elrich deferring to Bowser on when to open the County???? He is elected to govern Montgomery County, not Washington. Why can he not make decisions that are best for residents of the county???? Most of the serious Covid cases and deaths have been associated with nursing homes. Well, most of us have nothing to do with them. So why do we have to remain prisoners in our homes for more than 2 months because of them? Isolate the nursing homes, not the rest of the county.
