Other than Rice and Riemer, who else will be running?

Blair likely.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Navarro run. And I wouldn’t be surprised to see Leventhal back in it.

Hucker will run for comptroller. After yesterday’s performance putting union raises before county jobs, though, I don’t find his money management skills to be encouraging at all.

Did you miss the stories about overwhelmed hospitals, running out of ventilators, sick people lying on the floor in the hallways, people dying at home, trucks and sheds used to store dead bodies?

Yeah, so did I. Because it didn't happen, because of the stay-at-home order.

(Also, "locked down", ha.)

+1

Hogan supports them. They're not going rogue or disobeying.

Declining numbers for 2 weeks isn’t the benchmark. It’s hospitalizations and ICU admissions. We don’t know our metrics on that because MD hasn’t released county level stats on those metrics!

Caving to peer pressure? That is exactly what Elrich has done. Marc Elrich is Mayor Bowser's poodle.

Then why are we still told we have to stay home? Why can't we start to open things up? We can isolate the nursing homes, which are the main problem. That should have been done anyway. The obese and elderly can stay home, too, since they are the ones overwhelming the hospitals. I hate that they are hurting my kids this way. I'll hate it even more if I end up losing my job because of this.

Plenty of things have been open all along. Maybe if fewer things had been open, this wouldn't be dragging on so long.

I'd have more empathy about your fears of losing your job if you had more empathy for people who are not you.

I have plenty of empathy for people that are not me. But I have been home from work and my kids have been out of school for more than 2 months now, and there is no end in sight. Why????? The stay at home orders should have ended by now. This was supposed to stop the virus, but it has not. It is time to do something else, like let the healthy go back to work and back to school. Ask any doctor, the vast majority of those in serious condition in the hospital or who have died are either elderly, severely obese or have other serious health problems. People like that should stay home to avoid this virus, and the state should focus on getting them the help they need, while the rest of us try to salvage what is left of our lives. The list of things my kids are missing out on this year - graduations, concerts, athletic events, confirmations and bar/bat mitzvahs, and all sorts of other social events is astounding. I am at the age where if I lose my job, I am unlikely to find another. My wife wants to talk about moving to another state. This is F(*%&^$d up.

God, elections can't come fast enough to boot this guy. Are neighbors really that stupid to elect a clown like Elrich?

Anonymous wrote:Why is Elrich deferring to Bowser on when to open the County???? He is elected to govern Montgomery County, not Washington. Why can he not make decisions that are best for residents of the county???? Most of the serious Covid cases and deaths have been associated with nursing homes. Well, most of us have nothing to do with them. So why do we have to remain prisoners in our homes for more than 2 months because of them? Isolate the nursing homes, not the rest of the county.

You can have a foot in Mont Co and a foot in DC that’s why. Smart brave move.

And I can tell you it is not just nursing homes. Please.

75% of our deaths have been in nursing homes. 90% in the past week have been in nursing homes.

It’s primarily nursing homes.

Elrich is turning Montgomery County into a police state. This is how I, a liberal Democrat, see things. I plan to vote against anybody running for re-election to the County Council this year, and anyone else that supports Comrade Elrich.
