Waitlists moving

My kid is getting off waitlists left and right but not the two schools he wants. Got two of four WL already--both top top schools but wanted the other 2 lol. COVID-19 silver lining to having senior year destroyed.

That's okay news, I guess. But senior year destroyed? Please! They got to have 3/4 of their year. It's the incoming seniors whose years are about to be destroyed, so please tone down the hyperbole, k?

Most of Senior year happens at the end. I guess it is possible we will still be fighting Covid in a year..if that is what you are claiming. This years juniors will likely not start college at home either.

Are you full pay? If so, maybe you should disclose so as not to give false hope to waiting students who also applied for FA.

Yes Full Pay. Got into a top 20 and a top 10. Waiting on one more top 20 (really liked it and driving distance) and one Ivy. So we want the other top 20 and ivy over the top 10 (it is further and will likely require flying).

Interesting about the full pay/FA dichotomy. We applied for FA, but didn't expect to get any (and haven't really). Kid is on 2 waitlists, but we haven't heard from either school yet.

UChicago should not be in the top 10.

Full pay here and had a top 20 move, but still waiting/hoping for a top 10 and an ivy that would be a perfect fit.

Chicago is not top 10. Their endowment peers are NU and ND or below.
