So I haven't "smoked weed" in over 20 years (since college), but I'd like to give it another try. I know things have changed quite a bit from the days of rolling joints and packing bowls--arent there all kinds of oils and vaporizers and things?
So as a middle class, suburban dad/husband...whats the cleanest, easiest, purest (?), most discreet way to "enjoy marijuana" these days? |
| Edibles are the most discrete but it’s easy to overdo it. |

The problem for me with edibles and tinctures is it can be hard to figure out the amount to take if you aren’t experienced. It can take quite a while to fully kick in, and by the time it does you may think it’s not working, take more, and end up overdoing it.
I know a couple of people who vape on a somewhat regular basis, and according to them it’s easier to regulate your experience with vaping since the high comes faster. |
| take a 5mg edible and cut in half. 2.5 is a good place to start. |
Wait at least an hour before you take more. I am not a huge fan of edibles because it is so hard to control a dose, and if you have too much you feel crappy. I recommend trying a tincture that goes underneath your tongue; the effects come on sooner than edibles so I feel like you are less likely to overdo it. Admittedly, even with all of the newfangled cannabis options nowadays, I still like to smoke the old fashioned way. One puff is all it takes! |

Stay away from anything but flower or edibles for now, especially in an unregulated market like DC. So many vape cartridges have vitamin E oil or who knows what else in them.
I've consumed a lot in my life and I often get paranoid after indulging again after a long hiatus. Take it easy, and go slow. I also find that unless I'm with friends or I'm watching something really good, sitting in my living room at the end of the day is a waste of a high. |

Be really careful with anything you try because it’s all a lot stronger than twenty years ago.
And here’s longtime veteran expert pot smoker Bill Maher on edibles - I’m now totally afraid of them. “Maybe the worst night of my life,” Bill said of his edible experience. “I ate a cookie, you don’t know how much is in the cookie. Okay, an hour later I’m at my desk, I am frozen. I cannot move, my heart is racing a thousand miles an hour. I didn’t know what reality was.” Things got so bad, Bill believed he’d died and gone to hell. He somehow found the strength to start calling people and asking them to help. When those he dialed up came over Bill suddenly found himself in a different kind of trouble. “An hour later there were like 20 people in my living room. Women I had worked very hard to keep apart from each other met each other that day,” Bill said with a laugh.” https://www.howardstern.com/show/2019/6/10/bill-maher-back-stern-show-nearly-20-years-away-trump-weed-howard-video/ |

I still pack a bowl. Vapes etc just don't seem safe. A friend got it for me so I honestly don't know where to get it.
I have enjoyed very controlled edibles from reputable companies, but I've also had bad nights from friends who say they swear they know how to bake with it. I'd love to get my hands on some trustworthy edibles legally, so I can avoid smoking, but I wouldn't know where to look. I'm in Maryland and don't have a prescription. |
| You need to buy a tiny chunk of the brown stuff and then put a tiny amount of it into brownie mix. Bake the brownies. Eat them with friends. One or two each max. |
| I accidentally got high as a kite from full spectrum CBD oil. I took a dropperful, felt no effects after an hour, so took two more droppers full. An hour after that and I realized time had slowed to a crawl, my heart was racing and I was convinced I was manifesting neurological symptoms of covid. It lasted for five hours and was basically a nightmare. This was CBD oil I bought at Common Market in Maryland. |
so funny, thanks for sharing this |
| Volcano vaporizer is the cleanest way to partake re: flower but it’s a little expensive. |

| Tinctures. Put the dropper under young tounge. |
| Weed impairs short term memory, and repeated use can cause lasting cognitive impairment. That’s a stupid thing to do to yourself. |
