How to try marijuana

Good rule of thumb, try to minimize the harm you cause other people, OP. Don't smoke weed. If you end up consuming edibles, build in extra time between ingestion and operating machinery.

This is literally only if you smoke habitually (as in, every day or nearly every day) for years. Actually much safer than short- and long-term alcohol use if we’re talking relative physical impairments.

People do smoke it habitually, every day, for years. Dozens of millions of people.

Right, but habitual use is absolutely not what the PP had in mind when he told OP that it was “a stupid thing” to do. It’s still far “better” for your body than becoming an alcoholic.

Any good resources out there to learn the differences in cdb, thc, different strains and concentrations etc? Any resources for navigating how and where to buy these days? It really has gotten confusing.

Where are you?

Marijuana still is, banned in a whole lot of countries. In my opinion, this is made for a reason. I've read that THC (the substance that make you high) can cause multiple health issues. That's why I don't use it. On the other hand, sometimes I use CBD (which is made of marijuana) because I have sleeping problems. One of my friends recommended this https://baeys.com site to me, because they sell CBD without THC. And now I sleep like a baby. BTW, they make gummies out of it. These gummies are tasty.

Beware of he word "overdose". Many people think that people who OD are people who all of the sudden decide to take more drugs then before and die as a result of miscalculation or something.
The reality is that the person often simply can not know how much of any of the drug is safe. They can be taking the same stuff all t he time and one day their heart will be more tired or they will be more stress and the same dose will kill them. Other time they buy something new thinking they can manage some dose and hey never wake up.

Also with Marijuana, that is now genetically modified to kingdom come, it is super dangerous and also causes irreversible changes in your brain and affects your personality. If you are a father and a dad, then you might be unrecognizable to your loved ones in a very short time, with no coming back. You might end up trading a few puffs for your family.
Step back and take a good look at what you might loose.

Marijuana nowadays is as bad as opioids and as addictive. Do read about it. It is not you grandpa weed.

The last time I was in a dispensary in CA (like another PP I was luckily out there right before the pandemic and bought a lot of stuff) I also bought some transdermal patches. I wish I had bought more. By far that’s the best way I’ve ever gotten high. It lasts about 12 hours, you never really get stoned but you just feel comfortable and relaxed. The last one I had I used the night before a tough day - I put the patch on around 6, had a nice dinner, slept like a rock and felt like a million dollars the next day. I can’t wait to buy some more when all this is done!

Obviously it seems unlikely you can get them in the meantime so I agree with everyone else - try an edible (but start w 5 grams, you’re a man I doubt you’re that petite) or take a few hits off a vape pen or just go old fashioned and roll a joint. Enjoy!!

Did you read this on an opiate manufacturer’s lobbying website? Marijuana is relatively safe and that’s why it’s being legalized. Hopefully it will help this country with our alcohol and opiate problems!

Anonymous wrote:So I haven't "smoked weed" in over 20 years (since college), but I'd like to give it another try. I know things have changed quite a bit from the days of rolling joints and packing bowls--arent there all kinds of oils and vaporizers and things?
So as a middle class, suburban dad/husband...whats the cleanest, easiest, purest (?), most discreet way to "enjoy marijuana" these days?

Why? Are you trying to relive your glory days, OP?

Someone needs to say this: As a middle-class, suburban dad/ husband, you have a lot more to lose now getting involved with things like this than you did 20 years ago. If this is a mid-life crisis, there are better, healthier ways to deal.

its still illegal until the federal laws change, don't put your career and life in trouble

When the wrong word actually works in the sentence, but not the way you meant.

An hour after that and I realized time had slowed to a crawl, my heart was racing and I was convinced I was manifesting neurological symptoms of covid. It lasted for five hours and was basically a nightmare. This was CBD oil I bought at Common Market in Maryland.

You can’t get high from CBD. If you actually did, it had THC in it and was mis-marketed and you should report to the FDA.

All CBD can have some. That's why some of us (clearances, DOT safety sensitive positions, pilots, etc) don't risk it.

I would agree. It's hard to regulate the dosage, especially if you have something tasty like cookies. Best approach might be to have someone get you a small amount at a club and a little pipe. Probably best to stick to what you've done before if it's been a while. Plus, edibles do hit you a little different than smoking.

Start by getting yourself a Pax vaporizer - https://www.pax.com/products/pax-3?variant=39827541131375. It's small, discrete and does a decent job at containing the smell. You'll also need a metal grinder to crush up the flower in preparation to vape it. Those are readily available online from Amazon, etc. You may also want a small, smell-proof case to store it in between uses.

Next, connect with one of the many delivery services in DC that will deliver to your home or any other specified location. Everything, except the actual exchange, is done over text and couldn't be easier! They will send you a menu of all products currently available and then you can do you own research online before placing an order. There are plenty of sites that give detailed breakdowns and reviews of 1000's of strains, including the most typically reported effects of each. Indica strains are generally more relaxing and are great for pain relief, sleep or unwinding from the day. Sativa strains are more energizing and are great for promoting creativity and lively conversation.

I definitely recommned starting with flower vs edibles as the highs are very different. Enjoy!

I'm the above PP and neglected to mention hybrid strains which are the best of both worlds and my typical go-to.
