Have a 5 month old. Haven’t been working out. Need to. Help! |
yes. Its the only thing that keeps me from drinking too much or yelling all the time. its at different times every day. Sometimes while my kid is in an online class. or before everyone wakes up. |
Yes, but I take the kids with me. They're 2 & 5 so they scoot & bike while I run.
I also do like 10 min of yoga after the kids are in bed, just to keep my body stretching and do a tiny bit of strength. |
Put your kid in a backpack or stroller and get walking! When my son was that age -- up until 2 -- I walked and walked and walked while he napped in the Ergo. Stretch or do body weight exercises while baby is playing on the floor. |
Some days I do and some I don't. On the days when I do, I get up super early and run before anyone else is up. If I don't do it at that time then it doesn't get done. Two kids, 9 and 10. |
Yes I feel like even more. Family bike rides, walks and just running with them outside |
Peloton App is free for 90 days...do a core class, stretch, cardio... |
Yep. The times and the type of workout varied through the years depending on the kids' ages and the number I had at the time. Also depended on how much money I had at the time as well. |
Well, my daughter is 10, so when she jumps on me a la tiger cub (binge-watching zoo animal shows) and I run with her all across the house... I consider that my workout.
With a 5 months old, it wouldn't be as impactful ![]() |
NOPE. Both of us are working full time and we have a 4 and a 2 year old. We can barely get our work done let alone workout. If you consider running after them, going up and down the stairs and constantly picking up toys, a workout, then I have been doing a lot of those. |
We have a 22 month old. Only working out a couple times a week, I try to get in a workout or at least a long walk on both weekend days. Youtube has Fitness Blender workouts in all different lengths, so I've fit in a couple 20 minute HIIT workouts when I can. I also got a free trial to OpenFit and really like the Extend Barre workouts so I may pay for a membership. I'm trying not to put too much pressure on myself though, some days it's just parenting and working and there are no more minutes left in the day. And I'm not giving up my couch/TV time after the kids' bedtime for anything. |
OP here. Sorry meant during the pandemic. How do you structure your day? |
Yes, but only because I have a peloton in my laundry room. I work out while the 3 and 5 year old are asleep. |
Yes, 4 month old and 2 others. I wake up early to start work. I take baby in wrap/stroller for walks in afternoon. Alternate evening workouts with husband. I also looked up some workouts with baby while in the carrier on Youtube. I started using a couch to 5k app. It's been more of a struggle to fit in time for barbell stuff but, once baby spends more time playing on the floor you could fit that in as well. |
Yes, but our nanny comes every day. Sometimes the kids work out with me. |
