This is crazy, I saw this on the news today. Why did it take so long to end the meeting? Will this put an end to virtual open meetings?

They work fine in teams. You don't need to use zoom for school.
|
| They didn't password protect or use the waiting room. |
No, Teams actually sucks, but they shouldn't use Zoom either. |
Speak for yourself. I love Teams. WebEx is also good. |
Teams is working very well compared with Blackboard! |
| We are using Teams and Zoom with no issues. The Board was lax in policing their meeting. |
+1 It’s not that hard. Especially implementing the waiting room |
WebEx is AWFUL. No actual human could have this opinion. |
You use password and invite, they apparently posted it live on website
|
It was a meeting open to the public. How else do you invite the public? Zoom was not the right platform for this. |
Zoom can be the right platform with security features used. Zoom webinars restrict the video and audio to identified "panelists". Everyone else joins as participants who can't share or annotate the screen or speak to the group. You can add other restrictions to restrict chatting and not allow participants to change their display name. The public can be invited but the public wouldn't be able to take over video or audio. |
Why not? You just have people register to “attend” the meeting beforehand. They’re doing this with other public meetings in the city. Also, the PCSB is offering three free counseling sessions to everyone who was on the call. I don’t think that’s enough. Especially for the child who was present. |
| Wow there are so many sick people out there |
| Know someone who was on the call. It wasn't just "child porn". There is a special place in hell for whoever did that. |
