Seems like a lot of us are overeating...for those of us who

Aren’t....what are your tips and tricks?

Feel anxious and lose your appetite.

To not over eat I plan out my meals ahead of time. It really cuts down on the random snacking through out the day. I also track calories. If I want to that unplanned cookie at 2pm then I need to cut back on the amount of rice I am eating with dinner. It's all about balance.

It's not perfect and I have had moments of stress eating but the days where I plan out meals go much better. I also find that knowing what I will eat for lunch ahead of time prevents me from randomly grabbing things out of the fridge as I am hangry.

1. I weigh myself every morning, post bathroom and pre eating anything. If I see myself creeping up, I cut back that day.

2. We don't keep junk food in the house, so we're not tempted.

3. If I do eat something extra, I cut back later in the day.

4. I stop eating when I'm full.

I think a lot of people are drinking more and that's the problem.

NP here. I also eat lots of low cal vegetables, drink lots of water and herbal tea, and consume no calories after dinner.

I’m a stress starver and boredom eater. My appetite has finally returned a bit, now that we’ve been in place a while, but for several weeks I just didn’t feel like eating. But my clothes fit better.

I also have tried to not go to the supermarket- the last time I went four weeks ago, there were no practical safety precautions in place. So since then, it’s been what I can order online and what comes in my farm delivery (which I was lucky enough to sign up for before they got too crowded). So we have enough food, no one is hungry, but there isn’t a lot of crap or things that lend themselves to mindless eating. I occasionally order some chips from Amazon or Target, but that’s it. I also know from farm delivery day what I have on hand for the next week, and try to schedule what to eat when, and keep some items in reserve in case they are out of stock the following week. So we have eggs, but I’m not going to blow through a dozen in a day just in case I have to make what I have last two weeks instead of one.

Move your legs neurotically even when sitting.
Fidget, fidget, fidget.
Go for a morning walk with your dog, then go for an afternoon walk with your dog.
Then sit down to do work, then open dcum.
Get neurotically worked up about some trivial thing.
Shake your leg.
Have your teen criticize your toast, egg and avocado making skills.
Move you head left and right as you type this on the laptop. When you feel like eating, eat beets and drink green tea, then drink some coffee, then some tea, then eat radishes. Develop severe dairy allergy and waste calories moaning about it endlessly!
When you just absolutely have to work... come up with gardening project and decide to plant the bulbs or tulips you bought for Eastern decoration in the back yard.
Well, I think you get the picture.
Be a total utter cringing distraction mess!
And then wonder why you are having a hard time falling asleep at night!

Nope. Have till mid May to finish my research, my college kids moved back, which was great in the beginning... Clearly, at the moment, I am highly neurotic!

Eat less so you don't have to get more groceries

Be too busy to eat? With work and distance learning I don't eat much during the day, dinner is my biggest meal and we eat early.

I’ve lost 10lb since this whole thing started. I’m still working out at home (running and biking, free weights) and I’m sticking to the exact same diet, although I do allow myself the occasional treat, just like I always did. I’m drinking more diet soda when I’m bored though.
