2024 Washington DC area College commits

NCS students wait until about May to start up the instagram account. I don’t know about STA. |

NCS waits to all or most have selected their college and STA does not have one and never has. The boys all share and have their own group chats for class and their instagram followers can see but no public account. |

My junior just created a list of schools from the NY Times make your own list thing -- driving distance, between 3000-10000 students, acceptance rate over 25%. It's a fairly short list of options. His friend did the same, but specifically wanted a small engineering school. Even smaller list. A third friend only wanted schools with an open curriculum, again a very small list. Among them, there was little to no overlap in the schools they will eventually apply to.
It put into perspective the choices many students make and why you can't judge these high schools based on where kids decide to go compared to a super broad ranking of all colleges everywhere. They all have such different criteria for what they want. |

How large is graduating class? |

There are about 150 in the class and 42 posts so far. It's hardly a slam dunk. I know many kids who have been rejected and deferred. What you see so far on Instagram are mainly legacies and athletes. As usual, DCUM has no real idea what they're talking about. |
