Another strong addition to the MA Conference. Will the conference change to remain at 11 teams.

| Looking at geography only, it would make sense to have South Carolina and CESA move to the Southeast Conference, and to have Charlotte SA and NC Courage join the Mid-Atlantic conference. That SE Conference is also adding UFA (GA), so that conference could have 14 teams split into a north division and a south division, and leaving MA conference at 11 teams. |

On the boys side, with 10 of the 15 clubs in North Carolina or South Carolina, I struggle to understand how this will "reduce travel" for the Virginia clubs (BRYC, Loudoun, McLean, Richmond United, VDA).

' I did not know Charlotte was such a soccer mecca... |
Is now...ECNL is the only elite league... |
Well, there is only two Charlotte clubs represented here....consisting of their academy team and 2nd team down. |
zeroing in on a 13 member girls MA conference?
|
| Northeast conf is a nightmare with travel...same with colorado, utah, mich, wisc and minn teams |
| Any chance we might see a new ECNL League develop around DMV-PA-NJ? If more clubs look to join they could support a league of just teams in this area. |
VA and MD have diff high school seasons |
Will be interesting to see how the dominant MA teams (U14 VDA, U15 SCUFC, U16 Richmond United, U17 BRYC) from this past year fair with NC Courage and CSA now in the division. Although, I suppose rosters will change with a lot of northern VA teams if former FCV & Arlington players swap clubs. |
| I imagine that the number of clubs around the country will grow over the next few weeks as the impact of DA winds thru the system. |
No and ECNL is not adding any more clubs. |
Yep the majority of the areas in the country with a high household income have a team and those teams can have a 30 person roster. The only reason to expend is to stifle competition and that is not needed. |
| "I think there’s going to be clubs that come into our league now, there’s going to be clubs that come in in a year from now. And that’s not going to be because we're drawing this out in a fabricated manner, it’s going to be because of the timing of all this and the circumstances and just the real logistics of trying to figure this out." - Christian Lavers ECNL President, April 17, 2020. |
