I think I somehow missed how recent the meetings were. He’s only resigned from the face of the firm - he’s still there and has all of his shares right? Some of these mfrs are going to try and ride this out.

They really seem to think this is business as usual. And, I mean, unless they actually get forced out of their positions of power, I guess it is.

I read Jen Gunter’s piece on her substack about Peter Attia. She’s smart so she has appropriate disdain for longevity influencers. Attia prescribed Clomid to Epstein which is used presumably off label for testosterone production. I know it as a drug in fertility treatment.

Gunter made a haunting point in the comments. Basic but hard to accept. All of these interactions legitimized Epstein and let him abuse more kids, and I’d argue that goes for keeping Maxwell in polite society. The Clintons permitting Ghislane Maxwell to attend as a +1 at Chelsea’s wedding - widely covered - after JE’s sex offense conviction is totally totally insane. There is no way at all that they both would not have known that. No way. There are ten thousand examples of this but I’m highlighting this because I refuse to pretend that the Clintons are maligned heroes in this.

Many socials are praising the Clintons right now for agreeing to testify and insisting that it is public. I can't believe she was allowed to attend.

You are not very bright. They’re cheering this on because it is the first step in ordering Trump to testify. He will be subpoenaed to testify the minute he leaves office.

I was responding to a previous post. Try to keep up. Of course it is great that they are asking to testify publicly. Will it happen? Who knows? They are both very smart and will make a mockery of this administration if allowed to testify so it probably won't happen. Doesn't excuse the fact that Maxwell was allowed at the wedding.

Paul Weiss has a specific comment line on Karp. l don't know the number as I called the main number in NY and was transferred. I did find tel.# for the man who took karp's place and expressed my outrage and asked if they had a 13 year old daughter would they allow her to be in a closed room with Karp.

if you are using software to search for and redact Don T, you will also redact the misspelling of the word don't- lots of people skip apostrophes in email. Just another example of the redactions protecting the wrong people.

Perhaps the international community's hatred of Trump will light more of a fire than the previous times the victims publicly talked about their abuse. Wouldn't that be ironic? Trump wanted a second term to avoid prison but in the process made sure that he lives in infamy for generations, exponentially more than he would otherwise have. Not sure he really cares though.

I am praying that the disgust and outrage of the international community and the immediate consequences to those named will light a five alarm fire against trump.

I’ve posted a fair amount but there is a slow-rolling shock for me with this. Over time I’ve become leftist, I was once a “liberal” “progressive” Dem. I understand the most acerbic posters here telling us to collectively get our heads out of our bums to understand how power moves. And yet.

I am both inside and totally separate from some people who are occasionally in the rooms where it happens. I am used to being treated like a Cassandra or a dumbass by these folk. There’s something staggering in being more or less right, does anyone know what I mean? To have my essential distrust of the “good guys,” including the ones who are civil rights attorneys, having fled from big law, but are personally unsavory. They need the class system to remain extant for their own self-esteem, they need their kids in private all the way, they regard having low 8 figures all in in assets as basically broke as a joke. They will justify anything, and have revulsion over this story while celebrating let’s say the Harvey Weinstein conviction.

Anyway. It’s all shocking and I think it always will be, and beyond the concept of a Nuremberg style series of trials - what can one say. There’s value to not lying to ourselves about how people operate, though. There’s that.
