OMG, I hope you are not the same poster who kept questioning the Wapo article from yesterday.

"A recording that went viral captured the scene: A sedan and a minivan rolled to a stop in a road packed with activists. Suddenly, a 2010 Dodge Challenger smashed into the back of the sedan, shoving tons of metal into the crowd and launching bodies through the air. The Dodge then rapidly went into reverse, hitting more people."

https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/one-dead-as-car-strikes-crowds-amid-protests-of-white-nationalist-gathering-in-charlottesville-two-police-die-in-helicopter-crash/2017/08/13/3590b3ce-8021-11e7-902a-2a9f2d808496_story.html?utm_term=.e2efd0733f58

So, did the Charger hit Heather directly or one of the other cars?
Why didn't the crowd move out of the street behind the charger?

For goodness sake, you are mixed up. It was a Challenger, not a Charger. Nobody was hit while it was in reverse. Rewatch the video. It doesn't matter whether he directly hit her or not. IT DOESNT MATTER.. This conspiracy bullshit is ridiculous. Go back to the Daily Stormer. Oops forgot. It no longer exists.

Yes they were. If you see a video taken from the vantage point of the minivan (so looking at the front of the Dodge from Water Street, not from the rear), on the left there is at least one person, an AA (I cannot tell if it is a woman or man, but they are in a whit shirt and black pants I think) that gets thrown into the air and thrown against a parked car, I think a Jeep. Give me a break re what type of Dodge it was, have some decency and dignity for human life.

Thank-you for actually answering my question instead of jumping to conclusions about me.

These are pretty easy questions. It doesn't matter which car hit Heather. It matters which car caused Heather to be hit. The crowd behind the car didn't know he was going to reverse. Normally when you have just caused a fatal accident, you don't flee from the scene.

If this is the depths of ignorance one must sink to excuse Fields from responsibility, it is obviously a very open and shut case.

So it's not ok to ask questions? Just thinking ahead to what his defense attorney plans.

DP here.

Identity politics does not equal equality for all.

There is simply no way to stop this. When I was practicing law in New York, I wanted to become a judge. Every two years, the bar held a seminar on how to become a judge. I attended it and the head of the bar's judicial selection committee, an African American, was praising the work that his committee had done and introduced several of the judges that were now on the bench. They were all Black or Hispanic, except for one White woman, Judge Joan Lobis, the first state court judge I had ever argued in front of, whom the speaker said that he had selected because she was a practicing lesbian. A White man raised his hand and said that it sounded like "straight White men need not apply," and did he have any chance of becoming a judge. The speaker answered, "we don't want our judges looking like the portraits hanging in this room." It seems like a zero sum game.

This is untrue. I've been trying to make you people see reason since 2016. This weekend proves it will never work. You do not traffic in reality. You watch a video and pretend it shows something different. You believe a twisted alternate truth that is wholly separate from concrete facts. There's no talking to you or engaging. It's not that we disagree. It's that you can't even come to the table and admit there is a set of facts we have to start with and go from there. You bring whatever you want to the table and claim this is our paradigm, and it's not. I've written you off, you're not salvageable.

Among the people not trying to find excuses for the driver?

Jeff Sessions, who says that the driver was "evil" and that his actions meet the definition of "domestic terrorism".

But sure, you believe the departmentofmemes.com reporting of a 4Chan theory.

Exactly.

What exactly is this "equality for all"? Everyone who wants to go to college should be able to? Everyone should end up in the comfortable middle class? There shouldn't be people who earn $250,000 while others earn only $25,000?

I'm for equal opportunity, but it seems to me that many liberals are for equal outcomes. That's the difference. Some people are just more driven, harder-worker, and yes....smarter....than others. It doesn't help that we have to pretend that everyone has the same potential.

No, it means if you are walking through a neighborhood, even one where you live, you shouldn't have to fear getting shot and killed by an officer of the law because of your skin color or some self-investigating racist with a gun.

It means, when your county has polling places, there should be the same number of voting booths in both the "white" areas and the "black" areas. The "black" areas should have fewer polling places and fewer booth per location. The reason you see lines in places like NC and OH is because the white leadership is manipulating how and where voting takes place to make it harder for the black people to vote.

Not everyone has the same potential, and it is more based on socio-economic factors than race, but disenfranchising democratic basics like voting cut off a path to political equality on a proportionate level, and seeing video of people getting shot in a car for being black is disgusting. And now that every phone has a camera, we are seeing what had been lore for past generations.

Let's start with the basics.

It's not only Blacks who have to worry about getting killed for being in the wrong neighborhood. I'm White and for a while I lived in Harlem. I got used to comments like "damn White people taking over our neighborhood!" But one time, I was crossing the street and as soon as I left the sidewalk, a car went into reverse, struck me and I fell down. I was not injured and I yelled at the African American driver "why did you do that?" He yelled back at me "you in the wrong neighborhood!"

This is so funny. Look at all of these police shootings and the response by the left. They don't care about facts at all. Even when presented with huge amounts of evidence, they still keep rambling on about this or that or blah blah blah. You are both doing the same thing.

I am not sure what kind of defense you would use when there are so many videos from different sources and different angles, plus eyewitness accounts. He's screwed. So posing hypothetical bs questions about bats or whether he hit anyone with his car, when there are just irrefutable videos being widely circulated that clearly CLEARLY answer these questions makes you look dumb and like a conspiracy theorist. The best he can get is a plea bargain or try an insanity defense, which won't work. And that's if the Feds don't take over.

So you went from aspiring to a judgeship in a cosmopolitan city to 4Chan, Daily Stormer (RIP), and Dept. of Memes because of the struggle of the capital W White man in the face of mean black folk who have all the power? Uh. Ok!

Yes, he was. So was George Washington. My family fought on the southern side but I agree that statues of Lee should be taken down because the KKK have co opting them. But where does it end? Lee was a traitor to the United States, Washington and Jefferson were not. We can start there

Might be better to wait until all the charges are filed. The second degree murder charge is just to hold him. More are coming. Dylann Roof was convicted of state murder charges, but is on federal death row after his conviction of multiple federal charges including 18 with the death penalty.

The attack in Nice was pre-planned well in advance and carefully orchestrated. The minimization of Muslim terror attacks by liberals is disgusting.

Not minimizing Muslim Terror attacks, but maximizing the white supremeist attacks in this country, which by far provide the biggest risk to human life in the nation.

I can't tell you how many times, as a Jew, I've been threatened by KKK

I know you hate Muslims more than right wing terrorists. But you're next when they are done with the brown people in this country. Stop acting like a useful idiot; your great grandmother or great aunt can tell you where the Jews will end up once the Right is done using you for their political purposes.

It boggles my mind that so many Jewish men have sympathies with the alt-Right.

1) I'm a woman
2) Unlike you, I can clearly see the difference between the Nazi movement and a rag tag bunch of idiots.
3) Nazis were not right wing. Look at their stated agendas. Purely leftist.

The Nazis were the very definition of extreme right wing. Just as the Soviets.

Communism is extreme right wing?????

As a PP stated above, Sessions has said this morning DOJ will press charges and that his actions meet the definition of domestic terrorism.

Capital murder may be a possibility: willful destruction of a motor vehicle resulting in death.
