Given the candidate's incapacity, we're going to pick someone else.

The RNC should have done the same, given the candidate's disqualification. But they're too chicken. Or too dumb. But I think it's chicken.

On what basis do you consider trump incapacitated? That he's a bad guy?

We? Are you a delegate or DNC honcho? Most of us are just regular voters.

They seem to be playing off the quote in the prior post.

People need to remember, we democrats didn’t have a proper primary. No one really ran against Biden. The party heavily discouraged anyone from doing so. As a voter, I was very disappointed. Most of us Biden fans wanted him for one term, and one term only.

DP. That's juicy. And democrats would care more about that stuff than Republicans. The polling doesn't matter when stuff like this hasn’t been reported widely yet.

Why would the Democrats care about that?

Something like 99% of the delegates are bound by DNC rules to vote for Joe Biden in first round of voting at the Convention. So it’s already Joe Biden’s nomination. The delegates are not free to vote their own choice.

This is why they are trying to publicly pressure him to step down.

Democrats need to get off social media. This is completely an astroturfed pressure campaign. Lots of phony enthusiasm for “replace Joe” by bot accounts.

So what is the end game for Biden staying in? He *hopefully* wins because people so dislike Trump, then if he has to step down after the election, Harris becomes President? It’s clear that he won’t be healthy enough for the next 4 years.

I think that was always the plan. All the polling has been very clear for years. Americans do not want an 86 year old President named Joe Biden. And yet the DNC went all in with Biden regardless of all the red flags. So presumably, the DNC assumed Trump would be an easy win for them. Biden gets in, resigns, Harris becomes President, and it's sunshine and rainbows for the next 8 years.

Now here we are. Democrats looking at catastrophic losses in November. The DNC seems to have forgotten that people don't vote for the VP. They vote for President. And after the debate, it became clear that the presumed Democratic nominee and current President is a feeble geriatric with dementia. There is no possibility of Biden winning now. And the panic has set in.

The original sin was Joe Biden deciding to run for a second term. Everything derives from that utterly reckless decision.

Yes, ultimately it's Joe's ego that lead him to try for 2 terms. If he had committed to 1 term that was implied when he was the stability vote, there could have been a robust primary process.

Not evident in the DC echo chamber, but I think people underestimate the emotional wounds of covid on huge portions of the country though, and Democrats are suffering from covid policies that were (and more so in hindsight) intensely unpopular: vaccine mandates and school closures.

Yes, Joe Biden the President who defeated Covid and reopened schools.

You guys aren’t even really trying.

Sources close to former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tell NBC News the couple are privately supporting President Joe Biden and have encouraged donors to continue backing the president. NBC News’ Allie Raffa reports on how more Democrats have called for the president to drop out of the race.

I hear the sound of a distant cash register ringing.

But I have to say that this is a pretty good sign for Joe. The coup may be failing.

It would be so easy for the Dems if they just said in plain English what they’ll do for Americans financially . If you vote blue this November , we will pass x, y, Z bill. A stimulus check for all working class Americans to cover grocery bills or create a uni child care system or increase the federal minimum wage to 12 dollars. It’s STILL 7.25 which is not a living wage etc.

Americans are angry that Biden gives away all this tax money to Ukraine and illegals and not to them. Illegals get shelters and food for free and hotel living and accommodation . Most Americans are struggling.

Biden did it before with student loan forgiveness which now is being walked back and students are disillusioned with it.

Joe’s not getting out. He is too arrogant and Jill doesn’t want him to. Neither does the smartest guy Joe knows - Hunter.

We get to sit back and watch him decline further in the next 6 months.
