This city will create revenue from the traffic congestion. The price for offstreet parking, new proposed VA tolls, and Metro costs will all increase. |
Actually, people just won't go - at least to the week night games. The teams will have to attract generally new fan bases to attend the games. |
As part of the deal, Alexandria is supposed to pay to build an underground garage. They do seem to recognize the massive transportation access issues but whether they have a solution is yet to be seen. |
DC did not really pursue the FBI. Bowser wanted more restaurants, condos, baristas, etc. as her model of a District economy. They could have pushed a deal at Poplar or at St. E's. The FBI leadership doesn't want to leave Washington DC. |
So that means people would have to pre-buy parking. How does that work with the non-game public trying to shop and do other errands in the vicinity? And if they are limiting to 4,000 cars that means there are another, say, 12,000 coming via metro? good luck with that on one line and one escalator. Obviously they will redo the brand new station if this comes to pass, but it is still only one line to disperse that many people post game will take hours. At Gallery Place, you have all 5 lines available for people to get to and the whole area can clear out in 30 minutes or less. |
+1 Bowser needs to step up. |
| DC now is thinking about turning Capital One arena into a casino that will be larger than MGM National Harbor! |
Those buses would be in the same traffic as everyone else, but add another 20-30 minutes of commuting time before the games, and after the games, the lines for those buses will be a treat! |
Ha! In DC, Wagering on sports is fully legal online, on mobile and at specific retail venues, however, this is heavily restricted. Caesars Sportsbook, FanDuel and BetMGM are only licensed at specific sports stadiums in the city, with two-block perimeter zones set up around them for permitted app use. |
With the shortage of bus drivers this is a fantasy. |
False news! |
seriously? that is HORRIBLE. omg. |
In that case, the arena will fail and drag down local businesses with it. More likely is garages being built. |
