White flint children’s house in Montgomery decided to reopen starting 3/30!

Just got an email from the head:

If it is safe to do so, WFCH will be reopening on March 30th, 2020. We have made the decision to do so in order to support our working families and to offer a sense of normalcy and safety to our students. Due to the changing circumstances and different opening criteria, we are no longer strictly following MCPS emergency closings. Instead, we will be making this decision in conjunction with CDC, Montgomery County Department Of Health and Human Services, and local education and health authorities.

This is insane!!! How can you ensure social distancing among toddlers and young kids?! Where does she place the safety of the kids and teachers?! What can parents and teachers do? Btw, she is not refunding the two weeks close and there was NO online class!

How many kids and people? More than 10? Not allowed.

30 kids per class room and plus 3 teachers per class

Wow that seems pretty crazy that the school would want to open and not follow MCPS strict guidelines.

I bet it doesn't happen....but they want to "look good" to families and claim legally that the county or state forced them to close...removing financial responsibility.

This is absolute insanity. There's hundreds of cases in the DMV and over a 100 in MD alone. I would not send my child to school just so they could be at risk for corona and risk exposing their grandparents to it as well.
I think the uproar of this decision will be too great.

Sounds like they are just trying to keep being able to collect the tuition. I think the CDC guidelines do not fully apply to schools, so they probably think they found a loophole and are hoping that most parents won’t send their children anyway.

They will get shut down again when we have shelter in place in a week.

Lock this director of this school up I say!

For profit school. Long history of putting money over the kids.

Guess I’m in a minority here. The email doesn’t bother me. Chances are they won’t open. The first thing they say is “if it is safe to do so.”

They will be forced to shut this week I bet. Can’t believe these places think it’s ok to remain open when the number of new cases increases exponentially each day
