LOL, it won't be safe to do so. They won't open. |
Why would a school want to open during a time of crisis. Isn’t the headline risk too much to even entertain the idea |
The owner cares about her bottom line. |
This is strictly a financial decision. "Sense of normalcy" for the kids is such bullshit. |
+1 |
You imagine the backlash if these schools reopen and kids and /or teachers get infected with Covid-19. These schools should remain shut until no new cases emerge if we are to get through these times. |
Is owner going to provide negative COVID-19 tests for all employees and every person they've had contact with? What about all the kids and their families. Owner is stressed understandably and trying to appear like there's concern for the children. Financial motivation. |
Show us negative tests of all employees! |
There are people who need, not want child care. Our medical staff, government workers who provide services, folks that keep our supply chains and utilities running. Would you rather little kids be left home alone or critical things not get done? Yes, we need to shut things down and stay home but not everyone has that luxury. |
I think it's pretty obvious who the essential workers are right now- do children from these private schools/daycares that continue to remain open or will open in the upcoming weeks come from families of grocers, pharmacists, doctors, nurses, janitors, police officers, medics, fire fighters, mail delivery..highly doubt it. This concept of supporting "working families" is disgusting and is strictly for profit.
It's a hard pill to swallow, realizing who is truly essential during a world wide crisis. We know a family of health care workers- both husband and wife are ER nurses. Their child is living with another family for the next month because they are terrified of exposing their child to coronavirus. When will people outside of the medical field take this seriously? |
Here's the deal. They are banking on YOU (parents) CHOOSING to not send kids to the school. If they are "open", they can charge you tuition and it is your call whether or not you use the service you are paying for. Same idea is when your family goes on vacation - you choose what days you are just not going to be at the school and you pay tuition anyway. If they are closed, they are going to be forced (maybe by lawsuits, parent pressure, or other means) to not charge tuition. They are choosing the shifty way out so they can make families make the hard choice. That tells me all I need to know about the school and its leadership. |
It's not being held out that they are offering out emergency child care or care for kids of front line workers. Some centers are doing this, which is a wonderful and needed service right now. They are simply reopening, for all families. That's a mistake and is horribly greedy. |
They aren't looking for childcare- they need to keep their kid safe. Period. This isn't a time for convenience, it's a time to think about community and humanity. |
I didn't even think about that! How slimy. |
Are you really that clueless? Not everyone has family or friends to take their child. We have grandparents close and one is healthy enough and in 15 years, has never see the child for more than 2 hours at a time. I could be dying and my mom wouldn't help. You are really selfish and clueless to not realize that everyone can't just dump their kids on someone else. How many kids have you taken in? |
