Tweens and teens posting CURRENT photos with friends on IG

They aren't old photos. They even comment to eachother "so fun to see you yesterday." Leads to a disturbing form of FOMO and to be honest i have less respect for the parents now.

Unbelievable.

I agree OP. I have zero respect for parents who allow this to happen.

I'm sure the parents are up all night worrying about what you think.

My kid has shown me current IG pics as well of kids from our local high school out and about with friends...playing basketball, some at the beach! Parenting at its finest!

I watch the Donnelly Family on Youtube and am shocked at how much the parents are running non-critical errands (let's go to the hardware store!) and that they allowed their teen daughter to go to a friend's house, then invite a few friends over to her house.

For two college-educated adults they REALLY don't seem to get it. My family has been quarantining since last Friday.

Watching another family on Youtube is just as concerning as the other actions mentioned on this thread.

Agree, OP. It's infuriating that parents aren't taking this seriously. That meme that's going around that says "this is like being in kindergarten and some kids keep misbehaving so we all lose recess" is so true. This will never end if people don't take it seriously!! ARGH!!!!

This is a parenting issue.

Lots of people don't get it.

I saw pics on twitter yesterday or one of the Bachelor women (Hannah Brown) and her boyfriend and about 10 of their friends hanging our together at the beach - apparently for a fitness workout. They were all sitting together at a picnic table and then playing volleyball.

As much as I wish reality tv, instagram, and celebrities weren't so influential -they are. When kids see these folks out and about and these are people they look to for influence - it takes away from the messages parents are giving.

If you are not sick, the recommendation is that you can be in small groups of 10. You can even go to the beach, just maintain a distance between yourself and the other groups.

There are 2 camps... the isolate even when we have not been asked to isolate and follow govt recommendations and gather in small groups/keep your distance/wash your hands.

Pick a camp, leave the other camp alone.

In red states, there is no virus. Only a liberal hoax. They are going about their normal business with Jesus on their side.

There are a lot of shitty parents in the world. All we can do is teach our kids to make better decisions.

I've allowed my teen to have one friend come over. She used Uber to get here and washed hands as soon as she walks in the door. Am I wrong? We are in DC.
