Honestly, with all this time at home, it might be a great opportunity to potty train the kids who are ready. You'll be around anyway!

Just pulled the potty out. My 2 year old was afraid of it when we brought it out a few months ago, but I pulled it back out yesterday and now she is interested. So, I think we are going to do this!

That’s definitely not too young- both of my kids were trained by then!

Agree! Definitely not too young. Today was Day 1 for us with our 23 MO and it went really well.

I always potty train at 20 to 22 months.

Agree! Definitely not too young. Today was Day 1 for us with our 23 MO and it went really well.


My son is 23 months but isn’t showing a lot of signs of readiness. What signs did your child show? I’m tempted to go for it if we will be home for a month. Otherwise I was going to wait for the fall because we are having another baby this summer. One of the challenges will be that my son mostly poops in the morning or at nap time as he is waking up.

THEre are no “signs of readiness” - that was a debunked article commissioned by the disposable diaper industry. The readiness is in the parents! If your child is a normal 23 month old - he’s ready IF you commit.

Read Oh Crap (short and easy read) and get ready for a three day training and be done before the baby comes! 20 to 24 months is the sweet spot in my experience.

I had the exact thought. DD is 19 months and seems ready, but I haven’t had the time home to commit to it. Was going to wait until Memorial Day weekend, but if I get stuck at home for 2+ weeks, there will be plenty of time!

I may wait until Clorox wipes and bleach are back in stock
