DD was accepted to both. We liked both quite a bit and are having difficulty deciding. |
They're both great. Our kids adooooooored little folks. The classes are small, the teachers are so nurturing, and our very different kids were known, seen, and loved. If you care about outplacement, it's really really good. But I would pick the school you think your kid will thrive in best and/or what works for your family best (location and full-day mattered to us). You'll outplace fine from either. It's also a really lovely, small community. We made some of our best friends there, and so did our kids of course! Anyway, it's a special place. |
Thank you! Little Folks is a little better for us location-wise. Would you mind sharing where your children are now? |
I don't feel comfortable sharing publicly. I will simply say that we are very happy, and we got in everywhere we wanted. Don't make that a big factor, trust me. Location is huge huge huge at this age. I wouldn't trade our days there and time with our kids there for anything. |
I completely understand. I have a feeling being in a closer location will be better. Thank you! |
Have experience at both, and we preferred NCRC. We found the parent community more welcoming and the teachers/staff more professional. The playground is also much nicer and their program/curriculum seemed better thought out. |
We're all in for little folks, but I will not deny that Ncrc has a much better playground. A little jealous ![]() |
Little Folks doesn’t have a playground at all, and they’re taken to Volta park. For that money, I would go to NCRC. NCRC just seems so much more professional/educational. |
We are an NCRC family and love it, but I have only heard great things about Little Folks. Is one better for your commute? Because IMO that is a key factor. |
+100000000 it’s preschool (and these are the best of the best). You want to be close for so many reasons. |
Keep in mind that NCRC has curbside drop-off, while Little Folks requires finding parking in Georgetown (not easy) and walking your child into school. That adds time to your daily drop off/pickup. |
Why limit to these preschools? Honestly, choosing simply between these two only feeds a stereotype, for good reason. If your goal is Sidwell, gds or Beauvoir pk, you’re likely better off with a hippie co-op or church preschool. Daycare even. More original at any rate. |
Based on the outplacement to bvr, sidwell, and gds at little folks and ncrc, I don't think this is right. They feed straight in. |
Another happy little folks family. been out for several years and the kids still love to return. Fabulous teachers and the newish head is wonderful. |
Lots of NCRC kids at Sidwell, GDS, Beauvoir, Maret and other private schools. But also at public schools by choice. Wonderfully, diverse, down to earth community, best trained preschool teachers in town. It’s a happy place. And the community stays with you. But you can’t go wrong at either school. |
