And.....she never said that so stop spreading lies. She never even implied that. |
Yes, it's always about race. |
Yup - he can't help himself. He starts this nonsense and makes it worse each step of the way. He's such a butthead. ![]() ![]() |
I have no doubt that the grieving widow feels betrayed, but I think that is because as soon as the call was over Wilson started dishing it out about how bad the call was. I certainly agree that it was Trump who first politicized this issue, but so did Congresswoman Wilson. Suppose Trump had not said that he knew what he signed up for? Suppose Trump had used La David's name Suppose Trump had said "hero?" Suppose, instead, he had said A, B, andC? Then Congresswoman Wilson would have said that A, B, andC was the most insensitive thing anyone could possibly have said and would have convinced the grieving widow of that. General Kelly gave Trump good advice in telling him not to call at all since he had made such calls as a general, and such calls rarely go well. But Trump was determined to do so. So Kelly told him to say that he died doing what he wanted to do. That's what Trump was trying to do. Had Congresswoman Wilson not politicized this issue, and what Trump said was somewhere in the middle of the paper because it would not be a front page story, no one would have given it a second thought. Trump is an embarrassment. His withdrawal from TPP is terrible. His decertification of the Iranian deal is awful. His attempt to scrap NAFTA is ridiculous. But here, Trump should have taken Kelly's advice and not called because there was absolutely nothing he could have said which would not have been called the most insensitive thing possible. |
As a schoolboy, I was taught that the Prime Minister of Ferdinand and Isabella was a "friend" of Columbus who changed their minds and got them to support the voyage. I wondered "where did this friend come from?" It wasn't until much later when I studied this in college that I found out that he was not a friend at all, he was a Morano Jew who was hoping to hind a new home for the Moranos.
When I learned about the Boston Tea Party, I was taught that the perpetrators were dressed as Indians. As a child I wondered why on Earth were they dressed as Indians? By that time there were no Indians anywhere near Boston. It was not until I studied this in college that I learned that the Boston Tea Party was never meant as a political statement. It was merely a Masonic initiation challenge assigned to a group trying to join that particular order, and they were dressed as Indians to make them look silly and embarrass them. Similarly, this Niger story doesn't make sense. Why did the soldiers wait a whole hour after the fighting started to call in air support? Why was La David's body found a mile away from where the battle took place? These things make no sense and won't until we learn more facts, which we may never learn. |
I heard a retired Col who has served in Niger speak on this yesterday. They may have waited because they thought they could handle the attack. This is not unusual. The investigation will surely find the answer. And, as to where they found La David’s body - I really believe we will know the answer to that. The fact that there are several survivors of this attack will help in the investigation. They can recount the experience which I believe, will provide many of the answers. |
No offense but the wife seems to be playing right into the politics of wacky Wilson |
There's something else about this story that doesn't add up. This will out who I am, but I worked in Niger for two years. The part of Niger that they were in is not controlled by the Zerma Tribe who runs the country, it's controlled by the Hausa and Tuareg Tribes. The government has little control there. How any mission in that part of the country could be considered ""low risk" is unbelievable, especially since, as we now know, the village elder did his best to delay their departure. |
Where did you hear it was “low risk?” That is not what I heard. I heard they did not expect any resistance, but that the region is inherently dangerous. |
Blame the victim. A gold star widow at that. Shameful. |
Sure it is. Kelly is not to be questioned, despite video evidence of his lies. Now the Gold Star widow is being questioned and attacked, even on this forum. So not only is the implication there, but the facts bear it out. |
She was speaking about Kelly in regard to his position as a 4-star General. Nothing about being a Gold Star parent. Sorry your narrative fails. |
I heard low risk one on of the three networks which I tape each evening. I don't recall which one. But let's just say that you're right. We now know more about their mission. They were part of a larger group that were on their way back to base when they were given a second mission. There was reliable intelligence that a high value ISIS target was in Tongo Tongo and they were to capture or kill him. They were going on that kind of mission and thought that there was very little chance of resistance? |
And yet he lied, watch the video tape. So you support the lie and the ones covering for the liar over the Gold Star widow. Excellent, you are a true patriot. |
That is what General Dunford said. It makes no sense. Whenever there is contact with the enemy, it's reported immediately. That they would not immediately report a battle with 50 hostiles armed with machine guns and rocket propelled grenades makes no sense. Either these soldiers were acting way off script or else, as I suspect, we're not being told the truth. |
