School shooters existed before TikTok. They existed before school closures. Some come from intact homes with loving families. Your tweet sounds clever, but it's wrong.

In addition to Columbine and Virginia Tech, the West Paducah, KY shooter came a family with both parents, as did one of the Jonesboro, AR shooters. The shooters in Fort Gibson, Springfield, Oregon, and Edinboro, PA did as well.

"Family with both parents" is something, but far from everything. Many of the other circumstances listed above still apply.

I live in Arlington VA. Calling my representatives won’t do jack sht - they already strongly support gun control. What do I do!

Hey - I live in DC. The place where McCain and Cruz rolled back the gun legislation we voted in. I have been donating to Brady (the lobbying group, not foundation) and Mom's Demand and Everytown for 10 years. Also, donate to Dems in other states. I tried emailing senators, but if you don't live in state they pretty much ignore you.

Nah. The shooter would mow down 50 people, all the idiots with guns would start shooting at him haphazardly killing 50 more in the crossfire, and afterward they’d all pat each other on the back and go “thank god people here had guns or else hundreds more would have been killed!”

It still helps. Most reps, even if they support gun control, don’t push it unless they believe it’s going to affect them getting re-elected. They focus on the issues that people push the most because those will get them re-elected, and gun control usually isn’t a top priority for most voters.

Apparently there were multiple cops there, and they retreated because he was shooting at them and let him barricade himself in a classroom and just kill everyone in there. I read he was inside the school for an hour before the additional tactical support came and went after him. Those poor babies. It wasn't a few minutes. They were in terror and dying in there trapped with their murderer. This is really, really getting to me. Why do we even have police if they will protect their own lives over 19 children? Why is it up to teachers?

Every person in the police department from those guys up needs to be fired, and fined. That is unconscionable. I hope the parents sue their asses.
