[/quote] I don't know that parents teach their boys that it's okay to do this-- or that it's necessarily "toxic masculinity." Mental illness is complicated -- and how it's expressed may be gender related (biological). I will bet that these boys were out of control at home, and parents don't always know what to decide when a situation has become a crisis. I think of toxic masculinity to be someone like Brock Turner or Harvey Weinstein, not boys who have gone off the rails. [/quote]
